Finally got to see Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

Absolutely fantastic film all the way through. I love how it intertwined (is that the right word?) his messed up childhood with his messed up adulthood. Andy Serkis was absolutely phenominal as Ian Dury and the kid from Son of Rambow (brilliant film) is excellent as his son. The film also gave me an added depth of respect to his music which was weird.

Watched London to Brighton in Film today as part of our exam work.

It was really quite shocking, hard to watch yet thrilling at the same time. Georgia Groome's performance was simply amazing for a child actress, she really is a star for the future.

I found it hard to get to grips in detail with the characters. we could see their perils and could feel for them, but not quite in the same way as I could in This Is England.

It's hard to describe, and this may sound silly, but I felt that the child prostitution was well put across, showing its horrors and how easy it is for children to be led into it.

It was moderately ok, but still worth a watch.

1. At least it wasn't titled Live Free or Die Hard outside of America.

2. The thing that made me rage at the movie was the censoring of "Yippie-Ki-Yay mothe****er." Totally butchered the most famous quote of the movies.

It was still worth a watch though.

The plot in DH4.0 is the usual sort of nonsense with a more "modern edge." Cyber terrorists take control of state controlled departments and resources.

John McClain obviously manages to get caught in the middle of it all and (almost) single handedly saves the day.

Yes, he defeats the terrorists. Sorry if that's spoilt it for you but it's <img src='http://www.coasterforce.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_censored.gif' /> obvious he does. I knew he would before I put the disc in the player. It's about the journey.

And that's problem. The journey was utter pig <img src='http://www.coasterforce.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_censored.gif' />. Yes, it's a Die Hard film - the sort of mindless action that I love - but it was full of deja vu - I had seen it all before.

It tried too hard to be grand without being outrageous. At times, some scenes were tongue n cheek but I found myself more drawn to messing about on my iPhone very 10 mins than hanging on to see what happens next.

In Ian's Does It Smell Of Wee Scale, it's the little droplets of wee that sting your bellend after tucking your cock neatly back in your pants.

I saw it on TV a while back, it's poor. I did giggle a bit at the way McClain giggles at the guy and his "command centre" because it seemed so real, but that's about it. And the way he beats up that bird and then drives his truck into her is a bit strong.

And True Lies did the ridiculous cheesy aeroplane rubbish already, and probably better.

After watching Burn After Reading (which I thought was excellent btw, I cannot understand the bad reviews it gets!), I found myself on a bit of a Coen Bros. binge, and watched 'A Serious Man' last night.

I'm not quite sure what to make of it, and I shall have to watch it again. :S

Just came back from watching Youth In Revolt. If it wasn't for Michael Cera, I wouldn't have bothered going to see this. I love him: He is my ultimate man-crush, and I want him.

It was actually quite good. It was mildy funny, had an ok storyline, and seemed to be less of a teen com than a all round comedy...with teen elements very much included.

It mad em think about my feelings towards somebody in my life at the moment, and made me crave them even more :lol:

Very good rounded film.

I have that on VHS... I should reaqlly dig it out and watch it again. It's like Plan 9 from outerspace, it needs watching once a year at least :)

^ I read the other day that adjusted to inflation, Metropolis was one of the most expensive films ever made at $200 million. That's a LOT!

I've seen part of it in Film, but it was confusing, and we didn't get to finish it :/

It's on one of my lists of films to watch, the "It's a classic but I'm not sure if its worth spending money on it and hating it" list.

Some of the released versions have a lot cut out, and scenes in the wrong order, making it very hard to watch.

The more recent, remastered DVD (from a couple of years ago) is much closer to the original version than anything released since the film first came out. Plus, it has the original orchestral score, which I'm pretty sure none of the other releases has.

Or wait until next year. The full original print has been found in some film archive in South America, and it's under process of being restored now.

Saw Avatar in 3D last night for the second time.

I still think it's an absolutely brilliant film, it's a great story (even if done before) and the detail in the CGI is just stunning. The forests etc feel so real and organic rather than sets and the realism of everything has just been captured so well.

Rating: 4.5/5


EDIT: Just watched the Toy Story 3 trailer, epic times lay ahead :D
