I'm no expert in these things, but feels a bit one sided to me. I would have thought the public infrastructure updates alone would offset some of it, not to mention the tertiary services boost in the area for local jobs/economy.

This is good news - but not entirely surprising to me. The devastation and fatality are significant, but from a business perspective these sorts of investments are not made on 1-2 year plans, they're made on decade+ plans. A simple readjustment of the 'cost to build' figures will likely have...
