Worst coasters you've ridden (Bottom 5/10)

Re: Your Bottom 10

I don't really think I have an 'official' bottom 10, but I know most of the M&D's creds lurk down there. A truly dark place.

See I feel it's a bit of a cop-out if I put a bunch of kiddie creds in etc so in terms of big coasters that were a bit naff and I wouldn't want to ride them again.

Stampida, that godforsaken woodie at Terra Mitica, Infusion, Wild Mouse, Big Dipper, T'Ultimate, Hero, Stealth, Shockwave, Saw.
Collosus? (Terra Mitica) you can actually feel your brain bruise.

Re: Your Bottom 10

Bottom 10 Most Dreadful Coasters I've ever Ridden:

10. Corkscrew, Alton Towers
The one at Flamingoland was fab, the Alton one was rough as hell. Much better as a decorative installment.

9. SAW: The Ride, THORPE PARK
If it ended at the lift hill, it would be pretty good. But it rest and the rest of the ride is as joyless as it is painful.

8. Big Dipper, Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Last time I rode it it felt like it was going to derail. Later that afternoon, it did.

7. Kumali, Flamingoland
First of the SLCs in this list, can't even go in a straight line without being painful.

6. Regina, Tobu Zoo
The second worst thing about Regina is it's another 5 minutes not riding a mega-lite, the worst thing about it is itself.

5. Shockwave, Drayton Manor
The UK's first and thankfully only slouch-up roller coaster. Doesn't cater for people 6'4" and above.

4. Infusion, Blackpool Pleasure Beach
What type of cheese IS IT?

3. The Ultimate, Lightwater Valley
Your thighs get a nice wild ride. The rest of you is left bored out of your mind for 10 minutes, hoping for a collision with a deer to add some excitement.

2. Anaconda, Walygator
"I could be riding that B&M Invert again right now, but no, I'm sat on this monster instead!"

1. El Condor, Walibi Holland
Absolutely criminal. First the worst (SLC) indeed.

Re: Your Bottom 10

Hey dude, you only have to go to page 9 of General Discussions to find the topic I've created on the matter. Stop stealing my ideas! ;)

viewtopic.php?f=29&t=35539

My bottom 10, including kiddies, since a coaster that beats you up is terrible, no matter what size it is...

10. Cobra, Tivoli Friheden
9. Bandit, Movie Park Germany
8. Blue Tornado, Gardaland
7. Infusion, PBB
6. Space Train, local fair (owned by Lunapark Astra?)
5. Baden, Carnival Teneriffe (or was it Uve, there's a bunch of those on coaster count that look the same)
4. Volare, Prater
3. Superman: Escape from Krypton, SFMM
2. Condor, Walibi Holland
1. Grand National, PBB (just the thought of it makes my back hurt)

10. Mean Streak
9. Le Monstre, probably my number one candidate for an Iron Horse makeover.
8. Carolina Cyclone
7. Steel Force, the most boring hyper coaster there is.
6. Ravine Flyer 2. This one is more sad than the others because it has a great layout and location in a very nice park, and would be in my top 20 if it weren't basically a jackhammer simulator.
5. Anaconda (KD)
4. Le Cobra (La Ronde)
3. Both Hurlers
2. Mind Eraser SFNE, I have outright avoided all other SLC's because of this one.
1. Super Flight (Playland). Words do not describe how unpleasant this "amusement ride" is.

Three years of this topic and I have yet to post, so here goes:

10. Santa Monica West Coaster @ Pacific Park - Iconically boring
9. Pirates Hideaway @ Casino Pier - Worst Cred-in-a-Shed ever
8. Anaconda @ Walygator Parc - Does absolutely nothing
7. Sequoia Adventure @ Gardaland - My worst milestone (#500)
6. Huracan @ Belantis - Most painful of the awful Euro-Fighters
5. El Condor @ Walibi Holland - Ouch and then some
4. Bandit & MP-Xpress @ Movie Park Germany - Two-for-One Park
3. Magnus Colossus @ Terra Mítica & Coaster Express @ Parque Warner Madrid - Both painful and boring
2. Manhattan Express @ New York, New York Hotel & Casino - Get me off this thing!
And the worst goes to...
1. Son of Beast @ Kings Island - Thought I was gonna die!

Not so Honorable Mentions:
Zoom @ Flamingo Land - not even good for a kiddie cred
FunCoaster @ Funplex (NJ) - Worst wild mouse ever
X:\NWO @ Thorpe Park - WTF?! Pointless
Temple of the Nighthawk @ Phantasialand - Boring, but only crap coaster in the park
Superman The Escape @ Six Flags Magic Mountain - My car accelerates faster & much too loud
Shockwave @ Kings Dominion - Why so bad when SkyRider at Canada's Wonderland was so good?
Hurler at Carowinds & Kings Dominion - Why so painful when Thunder Run at Kentucky Kingdom isn't?
Mean Streak @ Cedar Point - My biggest coaster disappoint
All Volares - Painful and claustrophobic - not a good combination
Too many other SLCs to mention

I was going to mention Ninja at Six Flags Over Georgia, but the last couple of rides I've had weren't as bad as the first two.

Psyclone at SFMM
Timberwolf WoF
Racer at KI

All need to be burned down, that are left.

I genuinely hated eurosat (Europa). I just wanted it to end. That lift hill in 30 degree heat was bad enough, let alone the rest of the ride. The only coaster I simply won't re ride.

Honorary mention to XNWO, Furious Baco and Stampida. BLERUGH.

So ignoring convention here's my bottom 8 minus kids creds.

(8 being the most favourable and 1 being the downright worst)

8. Thirteen - Alton Towers - Honestly, I get its a family coaster, but come on, did it need to be trimmed to death? The only way to get a halfway decent ride on this thing and get some airtime on the outside section is to ride on the very back row. Anywhere else and it's just not worth the wait. Great family coasters don't need to be this dull.

7. The Big One - Blackpool Pleasure Beach - If there's one thing I have learnt over the years, it's that size isn't everything. The Big One is shockingly forceless after it's initial drop. Sure the first drop is pretty fun, but after that... well there's not much more to it after that. It does some lifeless hills and then drops into a tunnel. Oh and did I mention it's rough, yeah it's mega rough. All in all, it's pretty bad.

6. Jungle Coaster - Legoland Windsor - Don't get me wrong, for a family ride the Jungle Coaster was pretty much spot on. It's not exactly the most thrilling ride out there, but it was certainly enjoyable... or so I imagine it was. You see I had the unfortunate experience of only riding it with the scream shields on. Basically they added a plastic casing which enclosed you in the train and rattled around for the entirety of the layout... Why... Just why...

5. Kumali - Flamingo Land - So SLC's are a bit crap right? Well Kumali is the lesser of two evils when it comes to the two UK ones I have currently ridden. It's smoother (to a degree) but it's layout just lacks imagination. It's over way too soon, and has some of the worst operations I have ever seen on a coaster.

4. Infusion - Blackpool Pleasure Beach - Ever wanted to go for a couple of rounds in a ring with Mike Tyson? Well this is probably as close as you're likely to get. Just wow, the brutality of this ride is something else. It's sad because the layout is pretty great to be honest, and if it were smooth I would rate it very highly, but alas SLC's are just plain bad.

3. Colossus - Thorpe Park - Over the past couple of years, Colossus has got worse and worse. I honestly think it is now rougher than the SLC's I have ridden. Honestly, it's one of the only coasters I come off in actual pain (and that's coming from somebody who rates Nash at PBB as their top cred). Also add the monotonous and repetitive nature of it's finale and bam, you have one pretty poor coaster.

2. G-Force - Drayton Manor - I do appreciate the irony of the name G-Force, I really do. Sure you get a pop of airtime over the first hill (that is if you aren't being crushed by the god-awful restraints) but the rest of the ride lacks any sense of force or speed. There's literally nothing to it. It's got a wacky layout, but the only feeling you get is of the terrible restraints digging into your hips.

1. Hero - Flamingo Land - Wow. Just wow. I never knew coasters could be this bad. First, the layout is downright boring, there are no standout features and it meanders its way around from one uncomfortable maneuver to another. Then you have the trains... There's no doubt that these are the worst trains I have ever experienced. They are claustrophobic, uncomfortable and they don't even feel safe. It seemed to me like they were pretty much a ladder with some handlebars and a backrest. It just feels shoddily put together. I can see why it has virtually no queue most of the time, it's just that bad.

We all pride our top tens. We put them in our signatures, vote in coaster polls with the, the top ten is like the unique personal fingerprint that says what you as an enthusiast enjoy the most. But what about your bottom ten? How would you list what you like the least? Which coasters of the ones you've ridden are the lowest of the low, the worst of the worst, the absolutely most vile things you've ridden that you might even say weren't worth the cred?

For me..

10. The Roller Coaster, New York New York Las Vegas
9. Vortex, Kings Island
8. Time Warp, Canda's Wonderland
7. Firehawk, Kings Island
6. Fly The Great Nor'Easter, Morey's Piers
5. T3, Kentucky Kingdom
4. Son of Beast, Kings Island
3. Ninja, Six Flags Over Georgia
2. Gwazi (Lion), BGT
1. Flight Deck, Canada's Wonderland
Had to go back and throw the best of the SLCs in there. That thing was vile, from the operations to the whacks to the back of the head, it felt like T3 on the beach. Awful, awful ride.

Been nearly 3 years since I updated this, and I've ridden quite a few awful coasters since, so thanks for the bump Jarrett.

Shock Wave - Brean - Still up there as possibly the worst ride I've ever had
Infusion - BPP - Haven't ridden it for 6 years but my ears remember that bashing like it was yesterday
Volare - Prater - Only Volare I've been on and was damn awful
Mind Eraser- SFNE - 2nd SLC on the list
Limit - Heide Park - Notice a theme?
Insane - Grona Lund - I don't think I'll ever forget the run on the Sweden Live, disgusting.
Mean Streak - Cedar Point - Easily the worst woody on my list, nothing comes close to it.
Enigma - Pleasurewood Hills - Violent brakes, vibrations of doom, bleh.
Kopermijn - Drievliet - Surprisingly the worst mouse, lats weren't bad, the jolts were.
Tornado - Bakken - It's **** ****.

Re rode Sidewinder last year and it was miles better than in 2013 so it's out of this list now.

Not counting Kiddie Coasters

10. Colossus, Thorpe
9. Old Texas Giant
8. Nighthawk, Carowinds
7. Primeval Whirl
6. Flying Ace, Kings Island
5. Gwazi
4. Dahlonega Mine Train
3. Boomerang, WOF
2. Mantis
1. Ninja, SFSL

1 - Bandit - Movie Park
2 - Rolling Thunder - SFGAdv
3 - Every single standard Vekoma SLC
4 - Rebel Yell - Kings Dominion
5 - Hurler - Kings Dominion and Carowinds
6 - Nighthawk - Carowinds
7 - Thunderhawk - Dorney Park
8 - G-Force - Drayton Manor
9 - Iron Dragon - Cedar Point
10 - Grizzly - Kings Dominion

5 - Goliath @ SFNE: A great layout ruined by horrible trains.
4 - Zeus @ Mt. Olympus: Needs a full retrack now.
3 - Mind Eraser @ SFNE: Again, a brilliant layout packed with intensity. Trains are total garbage.
2 - Psyclone @ SFMM
1 - Hades 360.

1. Hero - Flamingo Land
2. Hero - Flamingo Land
3. Hero - Flamingo Land
4. Hero - Flamingo Land
5. Hero - Flamingo Land
6. Hero - Flamingo Land
7. Hero - Flamingo Land
8. Hero - Flamingo Land
9. Hero - Flamingo Land
10. Hero - Flamingo Land

It's in a league of its own, so it deserves all 10.
