Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - Thelxiope Released.

I basically echo what everybody else has said already. The layout was great, but there were issues. There were a few support collisions and a couple pumps and jerks. Your transitions and turns are improving though, so nice job with that.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - LBAMT1 - 28/08/2012.

Hmm... I'm guessing brake-run on the right (the straight track)? Could be a launch I guess, but brake-run seems more likely.

Not sure about the ride-type though. Something like one of these new Mack Mega-Coasters?

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - LBAMT1 - 28/08/2012.

Both the left and right straight sections are launches.

This is more of a fantasy style ride as opposed to my usual realism.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - LBAMT1 - 28/08/2012.

Ah well in that case I take the Mack comment back. :p

Looks interesting, will be nice to see where you go with this.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - LBAMT1 - 28/08/2012.

I did think of a Mack when building it actually. I'll see where it goes first :)

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - LBAMT1 - 28/08/2012.

Omg I forgot to comment on le Wingrider. Well I really liked it! Well paced and flowed well, although it was nothing too original. I really love the loop coming from the drop, just felt... right :D

This new coaster looks promising too, keep us updated!

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - K0ntura - 31/08/2012.

Kontura is a pro type Bolliger & Mabillard launched Floorless coaster. It's more of a fantasy style ride due to the launch. I went for a terrain hugging coaster, with large swooping turns and 3 inversions to try and show off what this type of coaster could do.

I've come to realise that since I am a hand builder and use no tools, I cannot get perfectly smooth tracks. I feel this is more realistic in some respects to a perfect newtonised track and I would appreciate you taking this into consideration when rating this coaster.

Thank you and enjoy your ride.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - K0ntura - 31/08/2012.

Can I just say that I absolutely loved the ride?

It felt realistic and something B&M could possibly do. The barrel rolls are as near perfect as one can get without spending several hours and lots of annoyance.

You have just made my day. I was so paranoid with those rolls. I think they were my priority, I must have spent hours on them each!

I had the bare bones of this ride floating around on my hardrive for the past two years, but two weeks ago decided to inject some new life into it, and this is what became of it.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - Carmen - 03/09/2012.

Found this laying around on my hard drive. Decided to clean it up a little and release it.

Carmen is an Intamin looper. Based and inspiration taken from Colossus at Thorpe Park. http://www.rcdb.com/1412.htm. The ride itself is not known for it's smoothness, and since this is a handbuild without the use of of tools, please take that into consideration.

I wanted to create a looper in the style of Intamin, but without the amount of inversions that I believe make Colossus a sub-par ride.

Enjoy :)

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - Shenlong - 02/12/2012.

Your rides are getting that much better. The layout was fantastic and flowed very well and the supports were excellent. The elements were shaped correctly for the most parts and there were very few funky banking quirks. The only poor spot, which is to be expected, is the 0-g roll, although I wouldn't worry about it too much as it's such a hard element to build. Nice job on making such a smooth and B&M feeling invert.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - Shenlong - 02/12/2012.

Good coaster, as Antinos said, it got the B&M 'feel' to it.

A few pumps and jerks here and there, but nothing too bad, the only thing that i didn't like was the start of the lift, it looks uncomfortable and you should change the acceleration of it. But I'm a perfectionist so it's really nothing special.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - Shenlong - 02/12/2012.

Other than a few minor, almost passable pumps this ride is basically perfect. I'd have to give you a pass on the Zero-G roll because I sure as hell couldn't do it on one of my coasters, and they're a bitch and a half to make.
