Well we just got the new Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe game and it is fahoooking brilliant!
MK was always one of my fave of the genre games, so to chuck in DC is awesome.
Mastering some of the combos and special moves is a little difficult but when you get them right it goes royally right and looks simply stunning.
The playability is fantastic and for a change in the world of beat em ups, it actually has an ok story.
We have only been playing an hour and Im loving the game so far, although I am probably going to spend a lot more time learning the game properly before going online. I dont particularly relish the idea of going up against some geek who has had it since this morning and has done nothing since.
Seriously, if you like Beat em Ups, you'll love this throw em through a wall and down a cliff smash em up!

All gameplay should be leaked soon because the game has been made for the PS3 (just for Japan Lol) and that is due to come out in japan on 15th december 2008 (lucky sods), the orignal release was meant to be in march, but they had not finished all the game by march so was held back til december.
It is not due out in europe until 2nd October 2009 And is on Xbox360
So as soon as it is released in japan next month then there will be plenty of gameplay to view and spoil ourselves with
But heres another teaser for ya do yu think Final Fantasy VII is going to be remade for the Ps3 it has been rumored as yes due to all other ps1s being redone for like the PSP

7 Was just Meh in general.
I didnt get past disk one due to getting bored of it. No one even say anything about it being better or **** if it gets better later in the game. I don't care. If it takes that long for anything good to happen the **** it.
6 on the other hand. I LOVE. Kefka is better than Sephiroth cause Kefka actually set out to do something and did it. and he is generally a more memorable character.

Just finished Tomb Raider Underworld. I must say. After reading the reviews it was getting I was contemplating whether to get it or not. But I did anyway as I'm a huge Tomb Raider fan and have played all the others. Anyway, I loaded up the game and started. The first level sees Lara in Croft Manor. The whole place is aflame and you have to escape or get burned alive. This provides an exciting tutorial level to get to grips with the controls. This is where I first saw how awkward the controls and camera angles were.
The next level set a week earlier sees Lara on a boat getting scuba gear on. We then have to dive down into a HUGE underwater level. The place goes on for miles and the scenery is spectacular. Fish see you and swim away and if sharks feel that you're a threat they will come over and attack you.
After this level. The controls seemed to magically get better. Everything flowed nicely and the levels looked fantastic on screen.
The Story follows on after Tomb Raider Legend where it ended with Lara finding out that her mother wasn't dead after all and that she was in a mythical world.
There are loads of nice touches to the game. As you run around Lara become increasingly dirty. Also the rain effects are good and as it gathers on the floor it runs downhill and flows down staircases. Also if you are jumping between ledges when it is raining you are likely to loose your grip because it's wet so you have to grab hold again so that you don't fall.
Overall the game is amazing and it takes the gameplay right back to what makes a classic Tomb Raider game. Exploring temples. Solving puzzles (some of which are really difficult in this game), and fighting a mixture of enemies from panthers to mythical creatures.
So yeah really enjoyed it. The game isn't to short or too long and the pace is enough to keep you playing. The only thing is that there are quite a few glitches. But I'm sure these will be fixed over time. But right now the game doesn't feel polished to give everything that stunning finish.
I give it a well deserved 8.5/10.

Nice review Ollie, but you just confirmed why I won't touch the game. I was a TR fan until the third game and I gave up because of all the glitches. I actually purchased Legend because I thought that after so much time they finally had gotten rid of them, but nah. And they've never ever fixed any of them with an update, so I don't know why you think they will this time. :roll:
I mean half the point of playing the game is for the stunning atmosphere and what's the point if they can't give it that polished look without the glitches? Games cost too much to waste my hard earned cash on an inferior product. There are too many great games out there (see my siggy) without those kind of issues for me to settle for less. :wink:

Just to confirm what is probably already quite obvious.
Left4Dead is a superb game, and I'd be hard pressed to find a better one this year, I think.
It's so well at creating that feel of being in a zombie film, and is genuinely enjoyable to play all the way through. Versus is insane fun, and you really can't beat blowing yourself up infront of a load of survivors and watching them get eaten by the horde.
I call GotY.
Also, wow, the 360 avatars are quite... mii-like.

I couldn't agree more. Only problem is I can't pry it away from Aidan's grubby little hands long enough to get in more than a few minutes of playtime for myself.
I’ve only just begun the first 'movie', but I had the opportunity to watch the kid and seven of his buddies go to town on XBL. Man, it’s just incredible. I also saw him with three other pals playing co-op, which was just as insane - if not more so.
I'll need to play it some more to figure out if I actually like it better than Gears2, but I already know it's right up there with Marcus Phoenix & Co.
I think this could be the best gaming release season period, as CoD:WaW gives you a slightly different feel that the other two. Then there's Fallout3, where you get to pace yourself. Plus you've got Mirrors Edge, which is like no other game out there. And we cannot forget Rock Band2 & GH:WT to just rock out to.
The kid also has been spending quite some time with Shawn White Snowboarding & we have yet to crack the seal on our copy of Dead Space, but from what you all have said it seems to be quite good as well.
I can't recall a better lineup of games appearing over any two month span.

Jerry, the glitches in Tomb Raider aren't that bad. It's just things like when you die sometimes half your body sinks into the ground.
It's still a great game though.
And this one should get updated as its on the next gens where they can send out updates over the internet where as with the PS1 & 2 games they couldn't.

Those kind of glitches are the ones that bother me the most in TR. They used to apprear in other titles, but no other games have them anymore. As for updates, even the original xbox had them all the time so there's really no excuse.
(Sorry, but don't mean to be bashing as you're a fanboy & my buddy to boot. Just want to clarify why I won't bother with TR until they get it straight).

^I do understand. But sometimes you have to put small things like that aside and try and enjoy the game for what it is. At first I was thinking "This is crap" but then after I put away the thought that it was trying to push boundaries and be realistic I enjoyed it loads.
I probably only enjoyed it as I've liked the whole series since it began. But to a non TR fan it would probably be an average shooter with some glitches.

Have been playing Mortal Combat vs DC and as Mark said its a really good fighting game, probably the best one I have played.
I was never a fan of Mortal Combat but loved Tekken, and this is better than that.
Story mode is good and even on easy the game is not that easy.
All in all a very good fun game that looks good as well.
