SeaWorld Orlando | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

Re: SeaWorld | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

I like coasters over water. Not only is the engineering masterful, it's makes for a better ride. There's something exciting about riding above water. I like the overbanked drop towards the water and the overbooked bit above the break run. Although I love airtime, that feeling of nearly tipping out of my seat turns me on. Nice addition.

^Well, no.

You can tell there's a CP fanboy around when they presume bigger is better.

A good layout and intensity is what makes a ride good - being 300ft doesn't make it automatically better than something 200ft.

Oh and being 300ft means it's not a Hyper ;)
What I get at with that assumption is the Mitch Hawker Polls, which posit Shambhala and Leviathan well ahead of other B&M Hypers.

And yes indeed, 300 ft. is hardly a hyper coaster - though B&M still has yet to get the memo.

In all fairness, yes this is a great addition for SeaWorld, and glad Florida finally gets its first true Hyper coaster (Even though Sheikra I guess would count). The placement along the water as Ian made mention really brings the layout to highlight, and that could quite possibly be the greatest roller coaster entrance out there.

SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Tampa have come out with some solid plans for next year! Both coasters are looking promising.

Also, love the Mako colour scheme! So smart!

Well, not a lot to say... i'll let the pictures and the video speak for me:

Sorry for the crappy editing. A new video and a download will be availible next week.

Edit: don't know if it's the appropriate forum to post it. If there are any issues,
I'll open a thread on the games subforum.

I wouldn't be surprised if those overbanks have some floater hidden in there, especially in that first turn.

It's also great to see a well-themed mega coaster. I can't really think of any other one that has more theming than what this will have.

The thing is, I quite like that this isn't ridiculously big. Think about it, a HUGE amount of Brits go to Orlando and most of their coaster experiences come from Orlando and the UK (with maybe a few venturing as far as Port Aventura), so to me it makes sense to not build the biggest and baddest beast of them all, because it wouldn't fit their coaster 'palate' as we aren't used to much height in a coaster, especially not 300ft+. That and I don't think a 300ft-er would fit Sea World, it's too intimidating for the aesthetic they're going for.

Good call!

The few overbooked turns peppered into the layout are quite tasty - especially that opening Stengel Dive!

I really love the colour scheme, and that it will be built over water. This will make a great addition to SeaWorld and to Orlando overall - finally a decent bit of floater <3 Super excited for this coaster!

Meh. Negative post, airtime is just your opinion, and if you hate it there then don't go.

All a matter of taste. I prefer one of the weaker B&M hypers (Silver Star) over two of the better intamin megas (EGF, Goliath), so this new coaster excites me more than Bizarro at SFNE for example.

Re: SeaWorld Orlando | Mako | B&M Hyper Coaster

Same. I find B&M airtime in the front of hypers to be more sustained than thier Intamin brothers. Not been on EGF but Bizarro doesn't match up to the likes of Nitro or Shambahla IMO.

Don't have much to add to this but I'm watching it with glee. Great to have an actual airtime machine in Florida and happy that SeaWorld are moving focus away from animals (it's really not acceptable anymore). Will watch eagerly.

1. No one has to be positive about all new rides.
2. It's a B&M Hyper, which have historically been hit or miss at best.
3. Airtime for B&M's aren't really an opinion, as nearly every ride has the same airtime as the rides are designed to be that way. Trimming/roughness/pacing tend to be the main detractors/differences between the good and the bad(Intimidator, Raging Bull, Hollywood Dream, Silver Star.. need I go on?) Also, B&M airtime is lackluster floater at best and I'm a fan of ejector anyway.
4. Being that Florida is an overpriced **** and I live over 1000 miles away, I don't plan on it. I have one of the best Zoo's in America 10 miles away, why go to Florida to ride mediocrity outside of Manta?

In the end, obviously this will be meh. For me.. you know.. my opinion? Jesus Christ.

Its really the only thing Ohio has going for it

All joking (or am I) aside, I know it will be fun and isnt that all that matters now?
