Anyway, last night I watched a film I'd seen many clips from, lolled at the trailer and wanted to watch it as I knew it would be a fad. So, I did, and I finally watched The Human Centipede though it took me 3 attempts to watch it...
First attempt, I turned off after 15 mins as it was so boring, the acting was wooden, and it wasn't going anywhere...
Second attempt, I got so bored that I fell asleep 45 mins in (Literally NOTHING had happened up to this point, and as I would later find out, the second half would be the same)...
And then I finally watched it all again last night. The acting from the females in the first 45 mins of nothingness I likened to that of a pornographic film - wooden acting, poorly scripted, and seemingly getting nowhere, but you watch anyway as you know the best is yet to come...
...if only the best bit came.
It was 90 mins of "what was the point in that?" followed by 10 mins away from the film trying to work out what the hype was about. Quite frankly, it was awful - the only thumbs up it gets from me was the occasional glimpse at the girls breasts, which was approved of.
3/10...at best.
Thanks for that, I was planning on watching this at some point but wasn't too sure as I've been reading mixed reviews most of which were saying it was an awful film, so you've helped me decide that I probably won't bother watching it
I love horror films but this just sounds crap, and I'm sick of naked women in horror films...

About a week ago, maybe two, I saw a trailer for a film that promised something I'd never seen before, and questioned whether it could be done to a satisfying degree. It also starred an actor whom I've only ever seen in mediocre roles and thus decided he wouldn't be very good. Despite all of these factors, tonight I went to see Buried, and my God am I glad I did.
We start off submerged in blackness, even making certain stupid annoying cinema goers that this means, oh the film hasn't started yet, so we can make loads of noise. Had they taken into account even the title of the film they were currently watching, they would have realised that no, we are here, in our coffin alongside Mr Reynolds, our on-screen accomplice for the next heart-racing hour and a half.
I won't give anything away because I found that going in not knowing anything other than the title, the general premise and the lead actor gave me the best experience, to use a cliche I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire film. When he was getting out of breath, so was I. When he was straining his eyes to get a glimpse of his surroundings so was I. The claustrophobia, distress, hopelessness and frustration is intense and unrelenting; it literally never lets up. We are indefinitely trapped with Reynolds and we are not allowed even a moment of relax from opening scene to the end.
It was just satisfying to finally see a film this year that made me think 'Yes! This is why I love cinema, for moments like these.'
Fantastic, realistic and absolutely without fault. I loved it. 10/10.

^ I have heard nothing but amazing stuff of Buried, and I would have seen it tonight, but silly Cineworld times. Next week, however, I am hopeful of seeing it <3 Heck, I'm going to add it to my list
Anyway, ended up watching Tamara Drewe after reading John's positive review. It was a good lil' film, feel good, cheeky and oh my...Gemma Arterton was in it <3 Her bare bottom was exposed in once scene - I came.

Got back earlier this evening from seeing Buried.
I was looking forward to seeing this, the whole idea sounded interesting (although Tarantino kinda did the same thing in CSI a couple years back) and it has had positive reviews from everyone. Well I can see why it had positive reviews. It is just completely amazing from start to finish (and my what a finish). Ryan Reynolds is incredible and shows the World he can do serious acting too, I hope he does more serious films because he is just amazing, not many actors can pull off a whole 90 minute movie of just them. I thought it was really gripping and the atmosphere in the cinema was so intense at times. It was good to have some humour in there too to help break up the intensity. It's a shame peeps were late the screening etc as it spoilt the atmosphere of the film, peeps were also making mass amounts of noise etc and I almost felt like shouting 'shut the hell up' but I knew it would have made it worse. Anyways, I really can't rate this movie any higher and I urge everyone to go see it!

Oh and on a sidenote. I just re-watched the nostalgiacritic's review of the Room. It's absolutely hilarious but my Sister and I were intrigued by this actor/writer/producer/director of epic fail so we checked out his imdb page. His imdb page led us to a website for a new film released soon in America and we nearly wet ourselves laughing so I thought I'd share the link with you guys.

On yet another side note. I was flicking through my latest issue of Total Film and found an ad for a blu-ray special edition of Grindhouse being released on Monday. As soon as I saw it I shouted 'YES' very loudly. Monday can't come quick enough now

The 'DON'T' trailer is full of LESSTHANTHREE and makes me lol. Lots. Plus, every time I see it I'm amazed by how many famous faces they got to do it. I dunno if I can wait a whole week to see Buried...I'm actually gagging to sit my arse down in the cinema and watch it. Somebody who saw it last night (and isn't as such a film fan) told me Buried was so boring and naff as it was just about one guy...in a box...and nothing else. The ONLY bad "review" I've heard about it.

I watched Get Him to the Greek today, I bought it the other day, and I loved it in theaters. Jonah Hill is absolutely hilarious, and Russel Brand, who I can't stand, is perfect in these movies. I am not a fan of Brand's stand up, but when he plays Aldous Snow, it is truly hilarious. Rumor is they are working on a third film that features Brand as Aldous Snow, and Jonah Hill, once again, as a completely different character, if so, it will be worth seeing I am sure.

Also bought Ironman 2, love that movie. Me likey some Scarlett Johansen. Her with dark hair and kicking everyone's arse, is just awesome.

Watched my second "focus film" today for our Film Studies exam called La Haine, which is French for "Hate". It was quite a good film - artistic, styled and yet very gripping. Some of the subtitling was badly done, such as one graffiti label which said "Your mother sucks bears" and then gangsters saying "Oh, bugger off" - I think what he was really saying was a tad worse than that
It'll grow on me more, I hope. But a nice:

Just watched Scary Movie 4, as I hadn't seen it and it was on BBC1. They have got worse and worse each time, but this was awful. I could've told you that before I watched it though...

Saw The Social Network tonight and thought it was really good. Despite the truthfulness of the film in debate, it was entertaining, and obviously informative to a degree.
4.5 Stars out of 5. I bet it is bound to win some awards, so once it leaves theaters, it could easily be back in January.
