"Now Showing"

Pirates of the Caribbean was my movie sighting of the day, and needless to say, besides having a few good parts, amazing graphics and a couple of funny bits, it's not my thing. Yeah, Johnny Depp plays the part amazingly, but the movie is just way too long and drags on.

I'd go with a 5/10.

Dubbed movies can be awesome though.

I refer you to "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist".
 yes, that owns. If I remember right they had some clips from an older (80's?) movie, dubbed them and filmed a few more new clips and put it all together.

I saw Zodiac a few days ago. I liked it, it was exciting at a few places and also quite interesting as it's all true. After the middle (the movie lasts like 2 hrs 35mins), the movie was a bit boring as there was only conversation, nothing really happened, but still the acting was really good imo. Also it's a lot different from other movies about serial-killers.

I'd give it 8/10.

^I've been meaning to see that, might still go. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. lol, what makes me laugh is how no-one moans at it being 2hrs 35 mins which is about the same length of Pirates 3.

It kept me more interested than with Pirates 3, though they both had their dull bits. Pirates had more boring parts, however. Besides, I've watched a lot of television programs about Zodiac and seeing a movie based on it interested me.

It's not bad, but not your standard horror. I was the only one who liked it out of the 3 other people I was with.

Scream was on TV on Saturday night.

It is still my favorite horror movie of all time. Not the scariest, but certainly my favorite.

I picked up Gremlins at a bargain shop a little while back for about $2, so as I was doing my homework I decided I'd watch it.

Now, I had watched it before when I was little, and surprisingly I remembered a lot from it. The lady being slung out of the window, the Gremlin in the pool, and all that junk.

Overall, it wasn't fabulous of scary, but it was fun to watch.

5.5/10.

^OMG how an you say that!?

Gremlins is one of the best family (although can be quite scary at times for kids) entertainment films ever created. The theme music from Danny Elfman is just awesome, the comedy is superb and the effects are sweet. There is nothing bad about that film apart from maybe some of the acting. gremlins 2 is well worth checking out too, has the legendary Chrisopher Lee as an evil doctor!!!

Gremlins one is crap but the 2nd one is great. It used to be my favourite film.

But I hav'nt watched it in a few years now so if I watch it again I probally think it would'nt be as good now that I am older.

Haha, I dunno Peep, but all I know is that there are way better films out there, and although this was mildly amusing, it wasn't great which is why I rated it what I did.

I've never watched Gremlins 2 though, and I've never seen it in stores, so I don't think I'm going to be watching it anytime soon.

^Unusual that you can't find number 2, oh well its just one of those things.

Due to no release in cinemas because they don't want people to find good films in the UK I will now review For your consideration which I got on DVD (came out monday).

When I first heard about the film I really wanted to see it because it had a good cast/director and it was different. Its one of those films directed by Christopher Guest (director of Best in show) where there isn't much script at all. Thats the whole concept I love, especially when all the cast are comedians (including Ricky Gervais).

Anyway the film is about a low budget film with basically failed actors that catches wind that some of the cast is going to be nominated for an Oscar. As you can expect everything gets blown out of proportion and things get out of hand. Well I wont give you any more details than that, don't want to give much away.

I think the film is ok, nothing spectacular but its still funny and entertaining, kinda want to see a bit more once the credits begin to roll. Overall its worth watching and to watch a film which didn't really have much of a script is quite cool.

3/5

Since it's the end of the year, we watched Sandlot in English class. No, I wouldn't really choose to watch that if given the choice, but it's better than working on your last day of school.

It was a very childish film, and a lot of it wasn't realistic, but I guess I shouldn't put down a film for being unrealistic, because Labyrinth is my favourite movie and that's not at all realistic. Anyway, it was an okay movie with a couple of funny parts, but not a movie I'd buy and watch again, because the main audience would probably be 5 year olds.

5.5/10

Eugh! Minor_Furie made me sit through Night at the Museum over the weekend! I can understand now why he prefers air over Nemesis, he clearly had his taste removed at birth ;)

Dreadful, dreadful film!

I watched K-Pax a little later on, which wasn't very good, but was at least an honest film (didn't try to rely on special FX to pull it through). It's refreshing to see a film like that every once in a while (even if it's a bit pants) :D

Lol, Freddy Vs Jason was on last night, and fancying a bit of gore, I watched.

HAHAHAHAHA

I've never seen such a piece of crap. It doesn't help that Freddy films are about as scary as a mug, but my lord... I couldn't drum up a heart-beat, instead I just laughed. I knew it was hardly going to be realistic, but no, that took it too far.

0/10

Shame, the original Friday the 13th is really good. Oh, I watched that the other week. It was good. I like the classic horrors, they have a lot of suspense. Apart from Nightmare on Elm Street. That sucks.

I've seen Ocean's 13 twice now; once on Opening Day, and once Saturday. VERY good movie. Although, if you don't pay attention, you won't have the slightest idea what's happening. Also ties in a bit of comedy to the drama.

9/10

Yeah, Night at the Museum had all this praise surrounding it in Canada, and I really don't understadn why. There were a couple of funny bits but the story seemed kind of dry and predictable, and left me feeling unsatisfied in the end.

PLCP, Oceans 13 is confusing? That's a shame, because movies that are hard to understand can be the most annoying thing to watch. At least you liked it though.

We began watching Crimson Tide today, but too bad the class was talking and my teacher shut it off.

Haha, I watched that too! I think it was amazing for what it was.. that being a film that should probably have been quite poor from its strange storyline.

Well, have you seen Ocean's 11 or 12?

If you have, you know what I'm talking about in which you really need to pay attention. Took me a good 5 times watching Ocean's 11 to figure out exactly how they robbed the casino, and I still haven't fully figured out Ocean's 12 yet. But, as of now, I'm pretty good on 13.

I paid to hire that on DVD many years ago. You're too generous on your scoring! :p

That's a euphemism for a ladies time of the month you know? Or were you watching a film about periods? ;)

I think it helped that Kevin Spacey is generally very good, and it's difficult to hate a film with him in. I think it generally should have really sucked badly, but it was a rambling film, where nothing really happened, but nothing was done too badly and it all kind of kept you interested. If it wasn't for the fact you can't understand why you watched it to the end, it would be instantly forgettable :)

I watched The Hills have Eyes yesterday. The one made in 2006.

Me and my friend had been wanting to watch it ever since it came out in the cinemas. We never got around to it and a year later we finally watched it! What a letdown it was.

It's unrealistic, pointless and gory just for the hell of being gory. It was like a tacky version of Saw or something. But even worse.

I'd rate it 5/10. There's literally no storyline other than random killings.

Furie and Zero G, I have to agree and disagree about K Pax. I saw it a couple of years ago and thought it was great, watched it about 6 times since. I have to agree with your point Furie on the fact that Kevin Spacey is very hard to not like, he is such a superb actor. Oh well, I enjoyed the film, glad you both kinda enjoyed it.
