And on question 2 any other tips on getting the right timing? Have you ever tried making one yourself?
Yes. A very long time ago. I hated the layout of the coaster, but I managed to get the timing about right with trims etc. It just took time. There is no 'quick-fix'.

As for the banking, you need to check "con-roll" and then make the segments and even length like Xpress said.

Um I put con roll onto every segment apart from lifts, brakes and stations anyway, but I don't understand about this even segment length? Why would keeping even length of segments make any difference to the roll? I just use more when the train goes slowly and less when it doesn't require so much detail... does this mean I have to get every piece of track exactly the same length, and if so, how?

And thanks for that on dueeling coasters, I had an idea to do the spinning coaster as a duelling one but it seems like it would take ages and wouln't even produce a decent track...

EDIT Oh. My word. I just pressed 'y' (split segment) twice, and the whole thing just vanished... I still don't get how it works though so please explain... I mean I know its some crazy spline line thingy but I haven't a clue how adding more vertices makes it so smooth? I didn't even have to move the vertices around!

It's kinda hard to explain. It just is. Having even segment length can also give you better control with the bankings ;)

If you haven't got a mousewheel on your laptop, how do you zoom in? It's really annoying as I have to plug the mouse in every time I zoom in, but I don't use it unless I want to zoom or am playing shoot em up games...

So I'm thinking of getting No Limits. How difficult is it to use?
How realistic is it? From what I've seen it appears pretty realistic.

^ It's very hard in the beginning to get something great but as more as you play around with the editor the better you be, simple as.

It's the most realistic software out there.

Xpress

It currently IS the most realistic program out there that is easy to use, when you compare it to something like 3Ds MAX, which seems kinda low end compared to NL anyways. NL2.0 is supposed to blow the first versions away when it comes out sometime next year.

How the **** do you compare NL to a 3D Modeling suit?

Besides, HOW THE **** is 3D Studio Max low end???
You do realise game designers use it, including Lucas Arts, EA and many others. It was also used in many Star Wars films, Shrek and loads of other CGI films. The only other competitor is Maya which is also used for films and games.

Xpress, do your research because sometimes you're full of BS.

Read my post, I never said 3DS MAX ITSELF was low end, it's the highest end 3D modelling program besides Mya. I'm saying the graphics quality is low end, when you compare to NL. Yeah yeah, if you spent time working on a 3Ds Max track, then you'll eventually get to NL (NL is crated with 3Ds max [/obviousstatement]).

I really have NO idea what you're trying to get at?

If anybody else could help me with his post, that would be great.

Infact Erol, Xpress is completely wrong.

Well, either that or I'm getting the wrong end of the stick.

Xpress, 3Ds Max is about 100 times better at modelling a 3D environment that NL. What are you talking about?

Hmmm, if that is the point he's getting at then he's an even bigger fool.
So Xpress is telling me that Nolimits can out-render this?

That was done by Liquid Light Studios in 3D Studio Max.

Back on topic:

Say that I have downloaded a fair few NLpacks of tracks, that I watched once, and now they are sitting dormant on my PC, lots of 3Ds and terrain just taking up space, never mind textures.
Is there an easy way to remove all objects for one track at once, or do I have to go through the textures and objects folders, and manually delete everything, while at the same time try not to delete anything else?

If you still have the nlpack, file then just double click on it and it will ask if you want to uninstall it, then press yes, if you don't then try and download it again (you might have to install it first) and then uninstall it.
If that doesn't work you have to manually go through the files...

Not NL1.X. NL2.0 has the capability with its complex lighting engine, as well as making the physics equal to that.

Xpress I bet youth a thousand pounds it won't! If you think it can, especially after the new engine renderings I've seen, I've won. I can guarantee it won't look like a 3ds max rendering. No real time engine can. God man, you are a fool.

You know, I feel like you're the one being the fool. Telling me info that is essentially just a shot in the dark. You really don't know what's going on with NL2.0, and we'll leave it like that. End of discussion.

I'm not sure what you're on about exactly. But when you make a good model and import it into NL it makes it look crap.

Yes I do as I am friends with Kevin Stone, the leading art director and 3D modeler, so shut your head.

Also, I've been trained to use 3D Studio Max, Cad and C scripting, so I don't need some novice telling me what is what. You don't know half the stuff I know about 3D engines so don't go there and I wont embarrass you.

Do we have a deal?
