New Rides for Top Ten?

I'm off to Asia next month so hopefully any of the rides in Siam Park City will reach into my top ten, hopefully loop the loop if its operating

I wouldn't get your hopes up. I managed a ride on it in December 2007, but it was definitely on its last legs back then, and was only open for part of the day. I'd be surprised if it's even still there. The SLC and Boomerang there are the best I've ridden though, but definitely not top ten material. Try and get to Dream World if you have chance. A couple of the coasters are pretty good (not great), and it's a really cool park overall.

Ok, to answer the question. I could see Colossos making my top ten. Kawasemi is my current number 4, so I'll probably end up putting Piraten in with that, since they're the same thing.

Aww man, I think it looks an amazing coaster! I love the golden oldies, and this is something I haven't managed to ride yet, I'll just keep my fingers crossed (it's still shown on the website). Vortex looks good fun, it is said to be one of the smoothest SLC's? I'm not sure I'll be able to make Dream World as we're only stopping in Bangkok for 2 days, and spending one day at the park. Personally Siam Park City looks better than Dream World, what would you say having you've been there?

Something from Six Flags Great America might crack the bottom half of my top 10 but I don't know, just have to wait and see.

So far I've added:

Silver Bullet-4
Xeclerator-8
Giant Dipper-9

The only other's I'm expecting in the top ten are

Diamondback
The Beast (Maybe)

Clearly from my coaster count right now I can't even have a top ten, because it would be everything I've ridden minus 2. But this summer I'm going to get on a ton of amazing coasters, like Superman (sorry, Bizarro), Maverick, Boulder Dash, Phoenix, Millenium Force, Fahrenheit, and a bunch of others, so my top 10 should be pretty good after this season.

I'm hoping that Colossos at Heide Park will leave a good impression on me, that looks like a lot of fun.

And I reckon Piraten will enter quite a few people's top ten list's after this summer.

^Kentucky Rumbler is really good.

Not in an El Toro extreme airtime way, but it's just a lot of fun - it has a little bit of everything.

^I hope it does something for me also. I'm not gonna look at any POV's or anything.. just to keep it a surprise. I haven't had a true surprise in terms of layout in a while.

Both Ian and I agreed that it was just good old fashioned fun. It doesn't rely on a huge drop or lots of airtime, just a great mix of everything to keep you guessing.

^^ Aha, copycat, I'm not looking at KR layout or watching anymore of the rides at Holiday World.. It'll be nice to be surprised, that hasn't happened to me in a while.

I have high expectations for Piraten this year, I hope I'm not disappointed.

I don't specifically have a top ten thinking about it, maybe I'll sort myself one out.

Okay, based on previous experience and what others have said, I'd say that the following have a possibility of making my top ten:
Batman: The ride, El Toro, Phoenix, Alpengeist, Boulder Dash, Griffon, Talon, Superman: Ride of Steel , Coney Island Cyclone and Apollo's Chariot.

There are others that are contenders (I've got no experience of their type, or they haven't been described in a way that I think I would like them), but the above are the ones roughly based on my personal preferences/experience and what people have said and how they match my personal preferences :)

Yep, they're all aweeesoommee. But, Phil, word of advice, do NOT ride the Cyclone at the front. It SUCKS at the front. Ride it in the back it's AWESOME in the back, and a LOT smoother than the front (which is... odd to say the least!)

I almost didn't re-ride it after my ride at the front, but, I did, and it was so worth it because the back is GREAT.

Furie I am not sure you will rate Batman The Ride that high tbh. I personally did not rate it higher than Nemesis or Inferno.

I've heard mixed bag. Some claim it's as good as Nemesis, others not so good.

Thankfully, Nemesis was running superb on Sunday, so I've got an excellent last run on it for comparison :) Also, knowing Nemesis so much, I don't take into account the environ really any more - so it should be a pretty fair comparison.

Batman does what it does well. Its fast and has a lot of force but for me its all over to quick I dunno just does not offer anything new.

Batman is one of them love it or not coasters, will be interested to what you think. Its the only type of coaster I have done that you will be doing out there. The only one I have done is at SFMM but I expect it runs about the same.

Anway sorry for going off topic.

I was looking at my top 10, I only have one coaster from the UK in there thats quite bad really.

Not really Ollie, I just am really fussy with what I like in a coaster. The fact that Scorpian makes my top 10 sort of makes it a bit different lol.

Just cause a coaster is tall, loops god know how many times does not make it the best in my view. I like to feel something, infact I like to be pushed in the seat feeling positive G thats me. Not many coasters do that now days, its all about the ride experience lol.

My top 10 is very mixed up tbh and what I like others probably hate etc.

Maybe with Saw II Ollie they can get it right :)
