PreLive:
The day before the Live Slayed, Leighton, Neal and Matt (Vadge was also there) met up with me at Thorpe Park. I'd already done quite a few rides by the time they arrived. When they did Me and Slayed went of to put my case in his boot and then we all met up and went on Colossus. After that we went as we wanted to leave early.
We then drove to the travel lodge. Dumped our bags and drove to Weather spoons where most of us met up for dinner. The food was pretty cheap and it was tasty as well. Although everyones came at different times. Jordan then for some reason pulled out a Top Gear Stig cake. I didn't have a piece for some reason. I think it was because then everyone realised that it was only about 15 minutes until Top Gear started on TV. So then everyone rushed back to the travel Lodge and we met in one room to watch. After that we decided to get an early nights sleep.
I shared a room with Matt and Leighton. We spent ages talking before deciding sleep was more important. They fell asleep almost instantly and I was lying there for ages staring at the ceiling. I didn't get any sleep that night and to make it worse I got a nosebleed out of nowhere at about 1am. I then got bored waiting for the alarm to go so stood at the window and watched the foxes running round the car park and the vans at the newspaper thing next door driving off to deliver to shops.
We then finally got up and met in the lobby to get in the cars and drive off to the airport.
Day 1:
We got to the airport and parked the car. The bus came and left so we all did an early morning run to catch up to it at the next stop. By the time we got to the meeting point at about 4am half the members were already there. Slowly but surely everyone turned up and everyone was using David's weighing thing as Ryanair now charge you to find out how heavy your bag is.
Slayed then had to run back to the car because he forgot the sat-nav so we all headed for security. I didn't get searched this year which was good so I could laugh at everyone else that did. We then all got lost among all the people the other side so went to get some food. We went to WH Smith to get a sandwich and a drink before joining the massive queue to pay. We then found Mushroom and decided to head to the gate early. I had priority boarding so got in the cool queue. Mushroom got some then as well and also managed to get free priority for Mark, Ian and Slayed (I think). And then after a while we were heading down to the plane. Mushroom and Mark had a go at a woman who tried to jump the queue which I found slightly amusing. Although Ryanair making us stand outside in the rain for ages was not a fun game.
We finally got on the plane and I grabbed a window seat. Take-off was fun as usual and we got above the clouds pretty quickly.
After a flight of about an hour and a half we started descending.
The fun already began at the airport while we were waiting for the drivers to get the hire cars (which took ages).
Goon pretended he knew it was there all along even though he was walking round with it on his back for about half an hour.
Meanwhile we were all talking and wondering how long the cars would be.
Once they arrived everyone was told what cars they would be going in. 6 of us had to squeeze into Slayeds car as Jerry was waiting for us at Heide. It wasn't bad for me as me and Brad had the edge seats so we could squash Martyn and Ryan in the middle when we got bored. We then started playing I-Spy which shortly became the 'answer is always Rhino or Slayed game'. We then had bad news when the park called saying that Colossos would be shut for a few days due to problems. This made us sad and we all decided to mass fake-cry in the back of the car.
Anyway we reached Heide Park and Brad made me eat his Spunk which tasted really nice. Although it got stuck behind your teeth.
We weren't the first there but not the last either. We walked over to the entrance. Met Jerry and the Kid. and told everyone the bad news about Colossos.
The entrance was pretty nice.
I went through the gate and grabbed a load of maps. People then decided to have a quick toilet stop so some went to piss while others decided to have a go on the slides by the entrance.
I wasn't sure where we were walking to. But the park was busy and the queues were coming out of the entrances for the rides. We walked all the way round till we came to the lake where everyone took almost identical images.
We also saw some more EPIC slides.
We all then continued waiting for ages while some members got in a really long queue to get some drinks.
We then got in the queue for Schweizer Bobbahn. Which I didn't take any pictures of for some reason. It was a pretty fun coaster but it was pretty rough on your back if you leant against the seat. And it went down for ages only to have a long lifthill to carry it back up to the station.
We carried on walking round the park. I think it was here when we walked past one of those water balloon catapult things like Thorpe and Chessie have and one came flying out of nowhere and got Marc wet as he was walking past. There seemed to be random slides everywhere.
Scream was shut as well which made me sad.
We walked past a random shooty sideshow thing...
How often do you get to see the Statue of Liberty through a vertical loop?
There was also a really cool looking pirate show with them doing stunts and shizz.
Next we all found a massive slide that a few of us rushed off to do.
We kept seeing Colossos which was sad as it's MASSIVE and we thought we weren't going to be able to ride it.
We then all wanted to quench our thirst so got one of those yard long Slush things. The wasps around the pumps were annoying but the slush was nom.
Then we did the mine train GrottenBlitz which went through a cave but it didn't smell nice like the one in Europa so fails.
After this we found 'Mountain Rafting' which is the parks rapids. Goon made half the people skip it because he said the queue was massive when what he could actually see was the queue for Desert Race. We got on in about 15-20 minutes. They were a bit pants. Short and not very wet. Reminded me of the one at Thorpe.
We then came off and got some food. We then faffed for ages and Ian went for a piss in the White House (which is the parks toilets).
After this we realised that we still had loads of coasters left to do and not long left in the park. I wanted to get the big ones out the way but our next coaster turned out to be Indie-Blitz which was a tiny little kiddy coaster.
Queueing up for it...
The surrounding area...
We then walked back round to the other side of the park and did Big Loop.
The queue for this took ages and it was just one huge cattle pen going down steps. The free-for-all station also sucked as you had to fight for a seat. And the station was a giant greenhouse (literally) which wasn't helped by the really hot weather.
The ride was pretty weird. Me and Jerry both got front row and did POV's. It sped up at weird sections and had a few points where the track just went straight and then into the next element. Very RCTish.
Next up was the SLC Limit which was nearby. It looked really nice and made good photos against the blue sky. The ride was **** though. It was super rough and is the second worst SLC I've ever been on (Worst being in Movie Park Germany). It was Steven's favourite coaster of the trip for some reason. He said he had amazing forces, got airtime and it was smooth. He must of been unconscious and dreaming or something.
It had a short queue though so it was good to get a quick credit I guess.
We then headed over to the Colossos area for our ERT that had been moved to Desert Race instead. We met the staff there who had brought us free champagne as an apology for it being shut. While we were drinking the lifthill behind us began to move and everyone turned round and looked. Mark then reminded us that they said it wasn't going to be shut for a few days. Then a few seconds after an empty train went up. The GP then saw this and ran into the entrance for a ride. Mark told us that they'll be disappointed to get there to find it's still not opening. The about a minute after that a car went round with people on it.
The woman then said that instead of an hours ERT they could get us one ride on Colossos and Desert Race skipping the queue. We took up the offer and headed for Colossos.
WOW. What a ride. I got front row and did a POV but the ride is amazing. Airtime over every hill and constant speed until it hits the breaks at the end.
I still can't decide if it's my number 2 or 3 coaster. Black Mamba and Colossos are both amazing coasters and I can't decide which is better out of the two.
Anyway. Next we headed over to Desert Race. Everyone was thinking it was going to be crap as it's just a clone of Rita over sand. Although we were all wrong. The coaster was really smooth. Felt faster than Rita and was just better than Rita in every way. We all came off saying how good it was.
With that done we all headed out of the park where I saw the worlds best numberplate.
Brad and Ryan then got into Jerry's car so me and Marty had more room going to the hotel.
Anyway that's my trip report for day 1. I'll try and do one for the second day soon but Facebook is being **** and has failed to upload my photos about 6 times now. :x
