English Football 2009/2010 Season

No because Daves from Portsmouth, do you think anyone in the right mind would choose to support Portsmouth if they didn't originate from there?

Sure many people can bang on about their clubs history... But have you experienced the history through being at Highbury or from the comfort of your sofa in Scunny?

I've been to highbury 8 times and the emirates 3 times. Also been to about 10 away games

So what if i live in <img>, get over it. Eg: Dave lives in north London but supports Portsmouth. If what you're saying is true he should support us or that other north London team which hasn't won the league for 50 years.

I'd rather support Barnet then Arsenal or Tottenham.

I'm trying to think how many times I've been to Highbury... Possibly near 8... But my memory is crap...

So yeah... Nowt special there...

In addition in London, you have teams like Millwall, Charlton *spits*, Leyton Orient, QPR, Watford (at a push), Brentford and Dagenham & Redbridge...

So lots of other teams to support...

Thats not taking anything away from Arsenal though, it was a good game.

How can you have been to 10 away games if you've only been to 11 home games? I've got a red membership which gets me to a few games a year finances permitting, and I don't stand a cat in hells chance for any away games because I don't have the credits, nor the membership for them.

That stench of bull****. It be getting stronger I tell ye.

Pmsl. I've seen Arsenal more times than that and I dont even support them! Obviously everytime at Old Trafford, but even so its hardly an achievement that your boasting.

And before you ask, I been a United member since 1994. :)

^ You should support your local team :p

Bournemouth? .. You're kidding right?

Whats wrong with Bournemouth.

We've been in the top 2 of the league for pretty much the whole season, having only dropped down to 4th in the last week. Given the fact that we've had a transfer embargo for the whole of the season, and on occasions not been able to name the minimum of 3 subs on the bench, resulting in the assistant manager having to play a few games, I think we're doing pretty well.

At least I get to go and watch my team play every other Saturday/Tuesday rather than sitting at home shouting at the tv....

If you hadn't guessed, I support my local team and so should you. :p

As do I. You should have some kind of personal link to a team you support!

Speaking of which, we seriously need a win tomorrow - 2 points from the last 12 isn't conducive to staying in the play-offs! :?

Along with MK Dons and you don't mind watching Southampton either ;)

Whats happened to Swansea lately? Started the season (relatively) brightly and now it's almost gone down the drain, you don't want Cardiff to be above you, do you? ;)

The only positive thing is that the gap between 6th and 7th is 5 points (Cardiff have a game in hand though)...

Thats why its looking less and less likely for Boro to make anything.

Also, check Reading out... if their surge continues (along with their two games in hand) who knows?!

I support the Dons as a 2nd team due to influence from a certain person. I'v been to something silly like 5-6 of their home games (and 1 away) this season even though it's a 250 mile round trip for me. :p

I've only been to two Soton matches at St Mary's, one of which was against the Dons, and the other one was when you invited me along. I keep track of the Saints because everyone at Uni does, but I wouldn't say I support them.

Ohhhhhh Cardiff :(

Palace ain't gonna help Swansea tomorrow Slayed... I know that much... We're gonna get beaten (again)...

League 1 here we come... Bloody Agilo...

Well, aside from what the refs keep doing to us regarding pens (I know it's a cliché, but it's getting farcical now), we a) have very few goal scorers, and b) are so low on left-backs due to injury that we resorted to moving wingers into defence - which is why we leaked 5 against Blackpool!

We now have a loan left-back to fill the gap, so hopefully we'll return to our clean-sheet ways against Ipswich - although whether we'll get a goal is a different matter!

See, Swansea haven't put themselves into stupid levels of debt or run away from the tax man to fund their campaign, unlike another Welsh team I could mention...

Never said you supported them ;)

Also, Slayed, if you think the Championship referees are bad then you should come see the League 1 referees, absolutely appauling, always inconsistent etc. etc. etc.

What about your amazing goal scorer, Nathan Dyer :p

He was our best player by a country mile before Xmas, but he's had an injury since and has struggled to get his form back. He doesn't score much mind :p.

Never a truer word spoken! It makes me laugh that whenever a league 1 game is on TV they get in a premier league referee so that no one sees the appauling league 1 refereeing.

While on the subject, as a Millwall fan I am in dreamland right now, can't quite believe the run we are on. I sat on the coach for 14 hours to go to Leeds on Monday and it was well worth it! Got Stockport County tomorrow and Leeds go to Norwich. Leeds will lose, we should win then we are joint 2nd! :--D

Also Lewis the Saints are going to walk league one next season, your squad is quality. We tried signing Lambert and Barnard but couldn't match the amount you were willing to pay them :( couldn't believe it when you signed Puncheon aswell, quality player!

I don't want you to get promoted...

Mainly cos Palace Millwall needs to be done again... And we're going down

And Slayed, at the rate injuries are going they'll start asking fans to play... But I have better things to do tomorrow, like Chessie, than watch us fail on TV (since I have no season ticket due to uni)...

I'm liking this non-premiership discussion group! :p

There's a cruel part of me that quite enjoys seeing Leeds suffer, so keep it up Spicy, hehe.

The reffing quality is better in the Championship than League 1, but at times it can still be horrendous. Although as a rugby fan, where refs are afforded respect at all times (even when they're wrong), I'm disgusted by the way they get treated by the players in football sometimes - it really doesn't help.

Refs are ****...

Simple as...

Let's have all the non-Prem people post in here for a while... Though Dave can join in since Pompey are as good as down ;)

Yup I shall be in here all the time despite being in the Championship. I'm going to have a party when we get relegated, rather than cry. Good riddance to the league, its going to tear itself apart.
