This rides theming does look intensely awesome. Alton rarely fails to deliver in that department. The ride quality has yet to be determined but based on GCI history, it will be an OK but not incredible coaster.

I agree! It also looks faster to me than the aerial video, which I didn't even think looked that slow slow even though you all thought it looked slow, which is good!

This will definitely be a great bridge between something like Th13teen / Spinball and the bigger coasters!! I can't wait to see it in person. It really is cool to watch a coaster seemingly go through flames. Now that is a great coaster to see as you enter the park!

As so many have said, it's highly likely that the effects will not so much have burnt out as faded away by the end of the season.
Once again though, I'll congratulate Merlin for knowing they're onto a winner previewing their ride in the dark - this worked well with Smiler, Swarm, even Stealth!

The first footage was an aerial/birds eye view from a considerable distance. The coaster looks flatter and because it is further away from the camera, it's speed looks sluggish. The most recent footage is probably not much faster (if at all). Again, comes down to the fact it's shot at ground level of a specific section of track (with a bit of a drop). Plus it's only a 3 second long clip or something, so anything will look faster if you show a very short clip of a small section of track with the car whizzing past. Wouldn't read much into it.
