If only it were real. That looks so awesome.

This is excellent, the wheel/pulley thing is a beaut too. Any reason you went so steep on the lift hill? Just space saving? Not that there's anything wrong with it. Would be good to see more of the second half of the layout as well.

Yeah, it's 291ft so it's a little stepper than usual. Nothing major though.

Thank you for all the nice comments. Really motivational when you know people are liking what you show!

Immelmann and splashdown:

It's not going to be a conventional splashdown in that it won't enter water. I think it's going to be themed to some sort of conveyor belt which the rocks get carried along on or something. I dunno.

And finally, queue line/station area is progressing nicely, and yes, I have started supporting :)

Looking good Ash, I look forward to seeing this finished. :D

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - B&M Dive Machine 11/08/2013

Supports have been finished. Yay!

What do we think to this as a name/logo? (Obviously referencing it's 291ft high haha).

Now I've just got to finish the buildings, terrain and foliage :)

I oh so terribly need that in my life.

Looks utter fab.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - B&M Dive Machine 14/08/2013

Looking great! The layout is so neat and clean :)

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - B&M Dive Machine 16/08/2013

Thank you everyone... A little update for you.

At the entrance plaza you are greeted by the massive 193ft Dive Loop which is 331ft away from this viewpoint (To give some scale of how massive it is).

BEFORE RIDING/DOWNLOADING: Please ensure that you ride this track in the correct environment, ‘Project Auger’. If you don’t, the textures for the buildings, pathways etc won’t look correct or any good.

Auger – 291 Below is a large Bolliger & Mabillard Dive Machine. It was created to try and capture the essence of the three types of Dive Machine currently in operation. There is the original, ‘Oblivion’ which focuses on the pure drop of the fear. Within this track, I’ve tried to emulate this feeling by returning to an unground tunnel aided by a building. This means ¾ of the drop is enclosed.

Secondly, we have Griffon/Sheikra era coasters, a massive drop combining inversions. I’ve differed here slightly by making the first inversion a dive loop which is a first for a Dive Machine.

Finally, we have Krake. A smaller, more compact layout. On my track, the post-MCBR layout is reminiscent of this with one exception: B&M’s first beyond vertical drop.

I hope you enjoy your ride!

Statistics –
Height: 291ft (From base of drop to the full height of drop).
Speed: 90mph.
Inversions: 2.
Length: 4097.19ft.

Elements-
291ft Drop.
193ft Dive Loop.
Airtime Hill.
Overbank.
MCBR.
Beyond Vertical Drop.
Immelmann.

<3 I'll download it later, but the video looks great!

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - "Auger - 291 Below" Uploaded.

The ride looks fantastic but I'll have to wait to download it until later. I did really like the music, though, a sort of Tom & Jerry meets Looney Tunes meets How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It's the lovechild of those three musical scores.

I really enjoyed it. The theming was great and just a fantastic ride.

Re: Uncle Arly's Dev Topic - "Auger - 291 Below" Uploaded.

I loved it. It was a newer take on a Dive Machine, and I always love innovation with different ride types.

The amount of effort you put into this is clear. Fantastic ride, well done!

Re: 'Amarok' - Intamin LSM Multi Launcher 06/09/2013

The Amarok is said to hunt down and devour anyone foolish enough to hunt alone at night. Unlike real wolves who hunt in packs, Amarok hunts alone.
