^^^It's all the same really isn't it?, the abbrevation might be ENG-USA in the game, but the former clearly stands for Britain, it's just a mix up from the world soccer federation or the south american organizers :D

Right, time to get ready for work....C'mon England and lose so that the punters will leave early and not stay celebrating :)

I was indeedy. I'm glad it was a draw as punters stayed around just long enough for us to reach our target for the night (just), but not too long that we would be swamped ;)

We all know that the USA and England should both qualify from the group, but upsets do happen...

Sorry guys, but Capello will start Green against Algeria. If he doesn't, then he might as well send him back to England.
Although it wasn't as epic as Green's blunder, Chaouchi definitely should have stopped Koren's goal but I also blame Ghezzal for Algeria's loss to Slovenia. Three red cards in three games in one day & all three teams who went down a man lost.
Slovakia actually played better after Lukovic went out, but I expected a lot more from the likes of Pantelic, Zigic & Vidic. Although Kuzmanovic's hand ball was just stupid, I've got to give it to Ghana for playing better than I expected without Essien.
I don't think Cahill's early departure had any effect on the outcome of the Germany game. Deutschland played solid all around & could have scored 5 or 6 if Low hadn't brought on Gomez or let Cacau start instead of Klose. All Gomez did was rob Cacau of scoring opportunities, but at least Klose got the confidence boost he desperately needed.
What a day Friday will be!
Serbia will have it all to do against the Germans, as will Slovenia against us Yanks. England should roll over Algeria, which will put them out of the tournament. If the USA can beat Slovania, which they should, then we could actually have the upper hand at finishing top of the group. England, Slovenia & the U.S. could all head into the final day of group play with one win under their belts. Slovenia will be playing for their lives against England, as they will be a point behind, while the Americans will be playing against a devastated & unmotivated Algeria side. If the Yanks can pile on the goals, it could make all the difference in avoiding Germany in the next round.

My predictions:
Holland 2, Denmark 0
Japan 1, Cameroon 1
Italy 2, Paraguay 0

^ Yes, but like you say, thats IF you can beat Slovenia. I wouldn't underestimate them.

Why apologise, there's nothing wrong with that, he's a very good goal keeper.

America didn't look threatening at all other than the effort that Green saved. Slovenia are a hard team (not in terms of quality, but physically), so the US will have a hard time.

I personally think that will be a draw and they will have it all to do against Algeria.

New Zealand 0-1 Slovakia

Ivory Coast 0-2 Portugal

Brazil 116-2 North Korea.

EDIT: In other news, the BBC are running a segment at 07:50 this morning about the technical possibility of blocking out the vuvuzela sound.

This is why I hate world cup coverage. Last time we had nothing but metatarsals taking up media coverage, now we have a ****ing plastic horn. It wouldn't be too bad if they just concentrated on the actual matches. I guess football is so ****ing boring they have to talk about other, irrelevant things.

Needless to say, Japan played better than I expected as Cameroon played as I thought they would, but Italy played like crap. I had hoped for much better from such an experienced team, even without Pirlo.
At least I got the Holland score right, even if it took an own goal.
I have to mention all the empty seats again. The Japan-Cameroon stadium was half empty & there were over 10,000 seats available at the Holland-Denmark game. Today's Slovakia-New Zealand might be the worse yet.

Today's predictions:
Slovakia 3, New Zealand 0
Ivory Coast 1, Portugal 1
Brazil 4, N. Korea 0

I think this will go down as the most dullest, blandest most tediously boring World Cup ever. I quite frankly am bored **** less each match that I end up putting it on as back ground noise more than anything...

I may get to see England game next Wednesday as head of General Studies is trying with my effort to move the exam to 12:40, finishing at 2:40 - but the exam board/school need to approve first.

My GS teacher is quite a koolbean.

For **** sake! It's only been one round of matches! There are still a good 40 odd matches before it goes to knockout. They are just playing tight and a lot of people don't want to lose their opening game.
