^Clips have nothing to do with it. A few years back during Halloween they did a 'horror movie bites' show where they showed clips from horror films that were rated 18 and they let anyone into see it.

That age limit is a load of balls.

Samurai was ment to be rethemed to the same area, and 15+ because it was ment to contain clips of a 15+ movie...

I think the 15+ thing won't happen. It would be a silly move to limit it to 15's and overs.

About the Samurai Re-theme, I'm not sure, as isn't the ride gonna be on it's own on the new island, I mean they are building two new paths to get there so my guess is they'll just isolate it.

I agree with Coaster Monkey.

The video adds a nice touch, and a bit of anticipation to the otherwise dull construction process. I like it, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Thank you for the link but the sarcasm was unnecessary.

Anyway, that isn't an official mini site but it's damn impressive!

****ing hell. I can see who I will be voting for spammer of the year 08 will be!

Anyway, personally I like this idea of the videos. Yes it could be made in better quality or have more fancy effects, but personally I am liking the anticipation that this is creating as we get a new video each month. It just gives another angle of going about the build up to it opening. Yes I am sure a mini site will be launched with photo's every other week, but this is something different. They may not be able to keep the storyline when it opens, but they are making an effort!

As a piece of Viral marketing it is fantastic. Like others have said, it does just about enough to build up the anticpation for the ride. I like the use of the number 13 in it, because it is such an easy pitch. Everyone knows the connotations about the number and therefore it COULD be a strong indication as to what the rides theme story could entail?

In terms of the discussion about Samurai and it's location between the coaster station and Loggers. I said very early on that it seem very bizarre to place a coaster as part of a land, yet have the entrance pathways to it coming from Lost City. Plus the fact that Samurai would stick out a little, hence the fact I suggested a possible retheme back then. Which would make sense because of the whole windmill icon. Who knows as of yet.

I'm just intriqued by the whole gory aspect and the trailer. Which to me suggests something bloody and horrible....

Doesn't Duel have an age limit of 13 or something too...

I hope not, my three year old will be most upset if he can't go on it 30 times a day!

I like the idea - even poorly executed.

Of course, I'd love to see shaky shots of some bulldozers clearing earth and toss one off the first sign there is of steel going on site  ;)

This way, you know there's construction, you're getting glimpses (we'll have people posting the steel erection masturbation videos al lyear anyway on here) and they're trying to make it interesting.

I don't really see what the issue is? If the video gets more views by viral means, then it expands out to the general community. WE all know what the coaster is, but I'll bet we're a thousand people worldwide who do, and the last thousand people Thorpe want to attract - they're after the hundreds of thousands who have a mild interest, who will be drawn back to Thorpe by the new coaster the currently know nothing about

Oh, and projectdylon.co.uk is NOT AN OFFICIAL SITE!. So be careful!

I left a comment on the Thorpe Park YouTube that probably doesn't reflect how I feel about this truly.

Lol. It got deleted.

Anyway, I'd rather it wasn't a EuroFighter. But it is. So oh well. And in it being a lame ride type, I'm expecting money pumped into other areas. If this had been a B&M flying coaster, I'd have expected nothing... and it would have been crap too.

The videos aren't brilliantly made. Lets be honest. But I'm so thrilled they give a **** about us to even bother with them. Because honestly, who that isn't an enthusiast will come back on the 13th to see the next crappy video...? I'm not sure.

It's not the best viral campaign in the world. In fact, it's really quite a poor attempt. But they are doing it. And they don't have to. And I think it's nice they they are adding spice back into construction.

Give Thorpe a break for Christ sake. It's not like anyone is expecting much, but enjoy it for what it is, at least.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I think what we can guess from the theme so far is really nice and if it turns out as nice as they are suggesting I will be thoroughly impressed.

I think, ages ago, everyone assumed this was going to be themed to a logging mill/or mine. Pretty basic in generic old Tussauds style, with not a lot there to entice people who don't use their brains to think REALLY hard about why there is a monster in a pit with blood. Which is all well and good, but it's also lazy and doesn't work with Thorpe's market.

NOW, we see that they appear to be using quite blatant signifies, instead of subtle ones. Which is nice. It's like telling your brain "you are supposed to be scared/thrilled by this environment." It's what Oblivion does, or tries, to do.

I'm still with the logging mill. Not mine. Because it's in Canada... next to loggers leap. And adding a horror twist to an already terrifying environment is awesome.

Also, I do not think that an age rating will be at all hindering to Thorpe and this ride.

I think we have to remember that Thorpe is not really for younger kids anyway, most of the rides there are for teens and older people. So I think they could make this a bit more scary than say Alton or Chessington could.

I do not mind the video, its not meant to be top of the range production its filmed on a building site with a camcorder type thing. It probably still took a lot of planning and ideas to come up with it and as I said before it got people talking and this will spread around. Its good publicity.

We will all go on the coaster anyway, as will other people. Thorpe will know its not the best but tbh they have Stealth and Inferno 2 world class rides no matter what people say. This coaster will help cut down queues and should work as other parks that have them dont have break downs offen. Its what Thorpe needs.

No I dont like them for reasons said before but other people love Rage and Speed so these people will like this. Thorpe like other parks cater for the public not coaster enthusiasts. A woman at work for example took her kids to Southend yesterday and loved Rage, so I said the same type of ride is being built at Thorpe for next year so she can not wait.

Anyone see these adverts spinning off into the new Fright Nights attraction?

In 2002 they did theme their fireworks to a volcano in anticipation of Nemesis Inferno. Last year they put out teaser adverts for the Fright Night mazes. It may also be worth noting that Alton Towers plan to have Duel: Live this year. So could Thorpe Park also feature a similar spin off attraction? Combining these elements into a Live Maze?

Thorpe Park could also open Project Dylan on Friday the 13th of February 2009 or Friday the 13th of March 2009 or if it’s delayed enough, Friday the 13th of November 2009. The trailers seem to make something of the number 13, so I’m sure they have been looking at the possibilities.
