Just look at that deliciously twisty bit bottom right of this panorama:

Maybe the pit in the centre is for the drop track? :p

According to an article I read online (I'm gonna have to REALLY dig it out). Aaron has something like 112 intersections of track - in that image, we can only see about 10.

^It's 116 times but that means 58 cross overs since each cross over is crossed twice. If that makes sense? that's still a lot though.

Anybody have any idea what the 'longest multi-launch coaster in the world' claim could mean? That board says 'in its way of construction', could this mean longest by Intamin? Surely there's no way this will be longer that California Screaming? Technically those are LIMs, so perhaps it's the longest multi-launch LSM coaster in the world...which is nearing Merlin levels of desperation :--D

^Does California Screamin' count as a multi-launcher though? It has two LIM sections, yes. But the second one is only used as a substitute for a chain lift, not really a launch in my opinion.

As far as I can recall Helix is the currently longest multi-launch coaster in the world with it's 1381 meters :)

For comparison, does anyone know how many times the Smiler crosses itself? Because, that's over a kilometre long and it a very small area.

Im sure this will be a great coaster no matter what but I wonder whether the layout will be 'family friendly' with nothing more than steeply banked turns and some hills or if it will be more intense like Maverick with numerous inversions and ejector airtime hills. I reckon it will be family friendly but with a cheeky barrel roll like Cheetah Hunt although it is too early to tell yet.

^ I thought it might be more family-friendly initially. But, going by the fact the launch is meant to be the most intense in some sort of category, the steep banking of the turns and the rumour of them using Skyrush-like trains, I'm now thinking it may be geared more towards the thrill sector.

Didn't that article say they'd be a Vekoma family coaster too? So surely that'd cater for the kids while this should be much more of a larger thrill, like Black Mamba.

I'm betting it will be an LSM launch not hydraulic.

I think after the disaster called RingRacer no park here will built a hydraulic launched coaster anytime soon...

All I could think of in Germany - that work - like Fluch, Karacho, Freischütz and Blue Fire have magnetic launches.

But RingRacer was air powered?
Intamin have hydraulic launches and they do have some downtime but are seen to be very reliable.

A couple of photos of construction from my trip at the end of last month (bit late to upload I know!)

The construction site was a hive of activity, so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot more progress has been made. The sheer size and scale of this coaster is ridiculous.  And the fact that they're meant to be fitting in a smaller coaster into that area too is just insane.  Really looking forward to seeing it develop further.

Nice photos Josh! A few angles that I haven't seen before that seem to hint more at the layout. Seems a little while since any newer photos of this have been posted so not sure of construction has slowed.

On a Dutch themepark forum I've seen some recent pictures that show that work on the tunnel has continued, and a few new (coaster-) supports have been placed.
It seems construction is continuing nice and steady.

If you look closely to the above image you'll see the ride entrance has already been added. So weird to see theming built at the same time as the cred.

A slightly new aerial pic has also been posted on their forums which I think is interesting....

Anyone spot where they're currently storing the supports and track?

So excited for this it's ridiculous. Looks like the first level of the station is now complete so it'll be interesting to start seeing what happens next as I assume that's where a large bulk of the ride will be going.

Looks like an intense and thrilling coaster, Im sure it will be one of the best Intamins out there but still no sign of inversions! I hope its not just turn after turn.

Already got my friends to a tour of Freiburg - a day at EP - and Cologne - a day at Phantasia - for May/June next year. :--D
