That is going to be obscene. (It will be in the lying position I assume, as I understand this ride will be able to change seating position?)
Yes. It will change from a sitting position to the flying position before the 1st launch and back to sitting at the end half way through the brake run as seen in this video from the test set up last year.

There's so much work left to do. I think it was mentioned fairly recently, but is the overall consensus that this will open next year or 2020?

Yeah I'm thinking the same. I suppose the Potter coaster at IOA still has miles to go too, although I'm assuming their workforce is far bigger than that at Phantasialand.

Here's a blast from the past with a construction update from 8th October 2015:

No Raik, new theming for River Quest's facades and lift tower, plants, major bridges or paths, no village and restaurant. The aerial pic is also from the start of that October I believe.

Also with Klugheim you had lots of wooden buildings and carvings being built by traditional craftmen on site, and then the wood had to be aged and painted - while with the Rookburgh industrial theming elements have been delivered already finished to the site and erected straight away (and presumably we will see more of this as things progress) which saves a lot of time.
The 'Wuze Wall Watch' over the past few days has shown how the speed at which Universal Rocks can produce their theming.
All that combined with how similar Rookburgh's progress looked to Klugheim's 3 years ago - a similar sized themed area that they managed to complete in time for Summer 2016 - I'm quite confident it will be fine for 2019.

Obviously that could change depending on how much progress is made over the next few months. Of course delays can happen too - due to the complex and compact nature of the site and project, harsh weather in the winter, the groundwater or technical issues with the prototype technology.
So its perfectly possible but based on the current state of things I think it is far too early to be worrying or predicting a 2020 opening.
In my opinion at the moment Rookburgh appears to be on track for Summer 2019.

Anyone has an estimate of how much track there already is?
Because there are also still plenty of places track should still go, and I think it will easily reach the length of Flying Dinosaur.

Also we now can see that none of the theories about the support behind the second launch are true? Since the track coming from the right is now connected and the Immelman Idea is out of question.
But there is another part coming from the right which could (and probably will) connect perfectly :) (And now I'm hoping I'm not making myself look like an idiot, because I'm mixing up trackparts and it was always that track coming from the right being discussed.)

Tobi from PhantaFriends.de (famous for his NL2 recreation during the construction of Klugheim/Taron) calculated as of the 13th August that there was about 650m of track installed. Since then some more bits have been installed, most notably the two launches and lifthill. However I've no idea how much that has added to the length. (Plus I heard recently that Tobi is now doing an internship with Intamin in Switzerland so he presumably will be unable to continue to giving regular detailed updates.)

Obviously Flying Dinosaur's 1,124 metres is the record to beat but they certainly have enough free space so it should be easily achievable. There

As for where the track goes after the large curved second launch its difficult to tell. Someone have speculated a loop of some kind or a drop. It could be an overbank to the left which would take the train back straight into the Zero-G roll (which is currently still the tallest part of the layout). Just need to wait and see when they start to build on that strip of land alongside the road.

From PhantaFriends another 'Wuze Wall Watch' update. Turns out the odd centre shape is some kind of bird/dragon Wuze coat of arms/crest/symbol.

I had assumed that shape in the middle was going to be a "blimp entrance" to rookburgh from wuze town, so it'll be interesting to see which way they're going with it

First i thought that an airship could break through the middle of the wall towards the fantasy-area.
But at the moment it could be a banked curve that passes the two recesses in the wall, too. Would be a nice "fly-by" effect for spectators like the loop or the zero-G-roll of Black Mamba in DiA.

Been at the park for the past couple of days. No photos that are different to the ones above, but I think it's worth pointing out that the site is really a hive of activity now.

The crane onsite is constantly moving and doing stuff. At one point, I counted 7 scenic artists working on the wall, all at different points too. Compared to other visits I've had, it's been extremely lively, which is nice to see tbh. So I can really see progress accelerating now!

I beleve that they wanted to build the wall quick, so they can build further without fans and their camara’s

As with my experience in project work with contractors, they slow down with the more attention they garner!
They absolutely did not rush contractors, build teams and schedules because of enthusiasts...

Throwing my hat in the ring and guessing on a Q1 2019 opening given where the project is now.

There is no date, they are not hurrying at all. They don't want it to finish before summer or so. Most likely it will finish just after summer season. Or they decide now that they want to build fast, what I do not see them doing.

The funny thing is that you're being serious, haha. ;)

To be honest, they would be crazy to open it just after the summer holidays. Then they will miss out on many visitors.

I would say that Rookburgh will open at the latest in the middle of the summer holidays.

I don't think Phantasialand are as lax as you suggest. I'm fairly sure that they will have a deadline and it will all be well planned out. Looking at it now I would guess a 2019 opening but who knows!
