I'm not going to argue at all, other than the fact that Beauty and the Beast was the best Disney animated feature for all of three years. Admittedly spited by what was simply supposed to be a filler-film.

Saw a few movies over the past week.
Paranormal Activity 2:
Absolutely LOVED the first one. It built up the tension so well and played on the fear of the unknown so well. As soon as I heard they were doing a sequel I cringed first of all but then seeing the trailer it looked forward to it.
It was alright. Wasn't scary at all and it felt kinda boring as well. I guess now that the first film has been done this doesn't haven anything new to offer apart from just 'more of the same'.
Everyone in the cinema ended up laughing more than anything and I know the film isn't meant to be a comedy. Just the pool cleaner was HILARIOUS and everytime it went to the night scenes they always had a shot of it going across the bottom of the pool. Also seeing it crawl out everyone kept laughing as it looked so fake.
The other funny parts were...
The film was a massive disappointment and most people left the screen moaning about how crap it was.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop:
This was on TV so we decided to watch it. It was alright and had a couple of funny bits. But it just all felt a bit silly. I did start to get a bit bored after a while as it didn't seem to be going anywhere for most the film. Worth watching for a laugh but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to watch it.

Angels and Demons:
Were going to watch the Davinci Code as I haven't seen it yet but couldn't find the dvd so put this on instead.
It was good but took a while to get going. It had an interesting plot and the setting of the film was quite cool.
Only downside is that it felt a bit long and the twist at the end was quite easy to guess.
Was a good film though and enjoyed watching it.

Saw 3D: (spoiler less)
As most of you know I really like the Saw films. I've seen them all quite a few times and was really looking forward to this one.
First things first I have to say... I left feeling disappointed.
I'll explain it all in my spoiler review but it all came down to it not really answering any questions, barely tying into the other films at all and was filled with loads of new characters we'd never seen before. It was ok as a standalone Saw film but it didn't feel like part of the series.
Plus a film to be described as "Jaw-Dropping 3D" was rubbish. Most the film wasn't in 3D. I kept lifting the 3D glasses and most the scenes were in 2D. Only the traps and a couple of other bits were in 3D and there was one use of 3D right at the end that made it feel really cheesy and final destinationish.
I still enjoyed the film though. Some of the traps were great and there were lots of them. Although there was a distinct lack of Tobin Bell and some of the acting was crap.
Will get it once it's on DVD. But I was hoping it would be good enough to go back and watch it in the cinema again.

Saw 3D: (with spoilers)
The film started well showing Gordon return seconds after the first film ended showing what happened to him. Although for a film that's been hyped a lot about 'the return of doctor Gordon' he's only in the film for about 7 minutes. A short bit at the start. A minute or so in the middle and a tiny bit at the end.
The opening trap was a really good idea. Sadly the people in it were teenagers and the acting was so awful. Especially with
First guy "what the **** are you doing here?"
Second guy "What the **** are you doing here?"
The female actress was really annoying as well.
So with a cheesy opening the main film began.
We're introduced to Bobby Dagen. It was obvious from the start he was lying about being in a Jigsaw trap. Him and his team and wife then get kidnapped and placed in traps.
It's then another one of those sequences that we've had in almost all the other Saw films. Where one person has so long to go through a path and encounters people in their traps and can try and save them.
It's just more of the same but with different traps. The only thing that doesn't make sense this time is that his wife at the end is innocent and hadn't done anything wrong. So why was she in the trap?
The film is mainly made up off...
-Hoffman trying to get revenge on Jill for trying to kill him in Saw 6
-Bobby Dagen doing his tasks to get to his wife
-Detective Gibson (who we've also never seen before) trying to stop Hoffman.
Usually as well the Saw films contain complex twists and turns with flashbacks but this is just one continuous time line set after the sixth film.
The first trap that Bobby has to escape from is probably the shortest trap ever seen on Saw and is so easy to get out off it's unreal.
Some of the other ones he encountered were actually quite good. The woman with the key on a hook that's inside her stomach was a good trap. Where it was attached to a string coming out of her mouth. But as Bobby tried to pull it out. If she made a noise louder than a whisper or he took longer than the time limit spikes around her throat moved in to impale and kill her.
The idea behind it was good and you could imagine the pain she was going through.
The other good trap as well was when that woman was rotating in that wheel into the spikes that were going to impale her in the eyes and mouth if he didn't stop the machine for so long.
Although in this film it seems they love their spikes. And I mean LOVE. they're everywhere in most the traps. Although when the spikes went in Bobbys ribs he seemed like he barely noticed they were there.
The other really good trap I liked was the one in the garage. I saw it in the trailer with the guy sitting in the car and wondered what was all about but the way it all worked as a chain reaction killing four of them if he failed was great and it was nice and gory.
Although the guy behind the car getting his arms and mouth pulled off looked rather cheesy and fake.
Another thing which annoyed me was that Tobin Bell was hardly in the film at all. I know he died back in the third one but why was he only in this one asking Bobby to sign his book for him?
The film said that it would answer all the questions fans had. But there weren't any questions left to answer apart from what happened to Gordon.
The ending of the film wasn't really surprising either as it was easy to guess and there were videos on Youtube spotting things that happened in the past films to prove that Gordon was helping Jigsaw as he had all the medical knowledge needed to make some of the traps happen.
So yeah. Although that makes it sound like it was a crap film and I hated it...It isn't and I did enjoy it. Just found it disappointing and didn't live up to the hype.
It also left more questions unanswered such as who were in the other two pig masks when Gordon attacked Hoffman? and what would he do after that? And how did Bobby get those scars on his chest he said he got from being in a trap?
I know barely any of you will read that as most of you don't care about Saw or can be bothered to read all that text but I wanted to put my thoughts down on it somewhere. And I'm sure most of you will be shocked to find I didn't find a Saw film amazing.

when the baby got pulled across the bed and then it cut back to it and it was just floating against the side of the cot crying (everyone couldn't stop laughing for ages at that bit) and also when the woman got dragged down the stairs twice.

Jackass 3D was absolutely fantastic. Just as mindless and funny and the first two films. I really REALLY enjoyed it.
The 3D works well in some of the scenes too, which I was a bit surprised at because of the nature of the film, but overall the whole thing was very impressive.
Best new film of 2010 for me... I think so...

Due Date
I love Zach Galifianakis so I have been excited to see this film for quite a while. It wasn't anything different really, but there were definitely a lot of laugh out loud moments and overall, it was great for a comedy.

The Davinci Code:
Really enjoyed it. Although it did seem to go on a bit longer than it needed to.
Great film though.

An alright film. Alright for TV viewing but would be disappointed if I paid for the DVD or to see it in the cinema.

Hurrah for cinema days!
First up was Owls 3D AKA Legends of the Guardians: The owls of Ga'Hoole
I don't really like the director, not too keen on his style, however his style made this film look really cool. The story was quite basic but it was told well and was great for the whole family. The CGI was incredible though, the attention to detail, the way the owls looked so real, fantastic stuff. It's also the reason why the director's style worked so well, lots of slo-mo in the flying scenes, which are even more epic by the 3D. Overall it's enjoyable and looks beautiful.

Second film was Jackass 3D.
I'm a fan of Jackass, I think they are hilarious, sometimes they go too far but it's usually amusing. At first the film seems a little too forced, like they are laughing a bit too much over not a lot. However it gets a lot better, becomes very funny and my highlight was an entire secretly filmed bar fight with dwarfs, I was in fits of laughter. They had some great scenes though and overall it was worth it. 3D effects any good? Well, lets say it's terrifying having turd flying towards you.

The 3D effects were meh and overall it just felt a bit loose, like the storyline was a patchwork of over-used plots from other films with the added gore that the Saw films are known for. There was a little bit of great suspense here and there but I dunno, I suppose I expected more from such a popular series of films.

Last film of the day was Due date.
Made by the same director as one of the best comedy films in years, the Hangover, the expectation levels were very high, especially considering the fact that it stars Zach Galifankis (who seems to be in everything since the Hangover) and Robert Downey Jr (who is epic). I was expecting a modern-day planes, trains and automobiles and in a way it was. However I felt let down and I think it's because they showed too many of the awesome bits in the trailer. The rest of the audience were lapping it up but I dunno, it just didn't amuse me as much as I'd have liked. Oh and one of the funny moments was completely spoiled for me by Claudia bloody Winkleman on Film 2010, that programme needs to come with a huge spoiler warning these days, twats. Back to the film though, funny but a little patchy in places and don't go expecting the Hangover.

Goon of the Year
Just had a afternoon at the cinema, first up was Burke and Hare.
First off, they forgot to start it, doesn't help I was the only one there lol. Yes I had a private screening in theory =D It was a good movie, several funny points, but was quite slow. Good movie 3.5/5

I thought #4 was bad, this in my eyes was worse. They shouldn't of done this in 3D, wasn't worth it, yes it gave it depth to feel like you are there, but it wasn't worth it. Not going to spoil anything, but the first 6 made me cringe more than this last one. They should of stopped it earlier in a way.

Life as we Know it
Ugh, one of those movies you can SO tell exactly what's gonna happen the second the movie starts, but my cousin wanted to see it so I sucked it up and went. So predictable, but it had a few laughs and emotional moments so I guess that was okay.
