Well, i thought that the trailer would ruin it aswell, as it did seem to include an awful lot of different clips in it. However, whilst watching the film, even the part's that were cut into the commercial had much more depth to them.

Seriously, anyone will wet their pants upon first watching this film. It is THE film of the year. However, i have followed the build up to it intesnely, so it may of been more funny to me than others. Search Youtube for the deleted scenes if you havn't seen the film yet, and you'll get an idea of how funny the actual film is as these are clips that wernt funny enough.

Ben and I watched the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2005) last weekend.

The hook, ugh.

The leg, ew.

The salt on stump of leg, ouch.

The brains on seat of car, ugh.

Brilliant film. They captured the sinister mood extremely well, and I think it deserves more credit than people give it.

It is pretty vulgar though.

I watched both that film (^) and the original a few days ago. Have to say the remake is so much better, the original is just weird, whereas the remake is actually scary, gripping and intense. Jake, every part you mentioned there was utterly revolting, and had my stomach moving. Though i did laugh when he slipped in the field, or the girl hiding in the cow's

 

[Stone Cold]

I saw the Prestige today and it was really rather good. It's a story of two magicians (Chritian Bale and Hugh Jackman) in Victorian London who are trying to outdo each other to find the most impressive illusion. Ultimately, this will consume then as the film rushes to it's heady conclusion and breathtaking twist yadda, yadda, yadda.

It was very well acted throughout, and without giving too much away, the explanation of one of the tricks is a bit of a downside to the movie. Not as much as having the random sitting next to you trying to guess the twist every five minutes.

Overall 4/5, go watch it people.

Jake and djedwardmyusernameisfartoolonganddifficulttoremember, I love the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, one of my favourite horrors to come out in 10 or 15 years, possibly even in my top 10 horror films (I'm a big (not just lardy) horror film fan, so it's got a lot of competition).

It was spot on with the tension, the gore, everything. It just worked really well (I was never a fan of the original though, even 20 years back when I first saw it)

Yeah, it was quite good. It's just a shame it has to be ****ing chainsaws. Those creations... (the chainsaw in Hostel... *shudder*)


It wasn't the best I've ever seen (it was no Saw or Scream), but it was still rather good.

:shock: Furie! How could you! I thought the remake was average Hollywood slick nonsense, not a patch on the original! :?

The only recent horror remake that I thought was actually quite good was Dawn of the Dead, the rest have been a waste of time.

Richie, Blair Witch is so not scary! I wanted my 86 minutes back (but well done to them for making a mint out of it....).

Stone Cold, I thought The Prestige was very well done, but the ending seems to be very divisive - I was alright with it but my mate went schizo....

As for Borat - most comedies have a handful of laughs in them, this has buckets! Even if I was laughing and watching through my fingers half the time. Still not sure if the joke's really on the audience for some of it though, maybe that's what you were picking up on Collette.

Also, as a vague attemp to stay on topic, I saw Donnie Darko for the first time a couple of weeks go. I thought it was really good, and not confusing in the slightest.

What's all this about???

Daniel Craig stars as James Bond sent to spy on a terrorist cell in Madagascar and then to destroy the man who?s bankrolling world terrorism in a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro.

....Totally awesome, right from the first scene. Packed with more action than I have ever seen (lol).

I reccomend this movie to any James Bond/Non James Bond fan, must see twice movie... In fact, I'm going to see it again with different people!

I saw Casino Royale today.

Totally awesome. It beats the recent bond movies (all the ones with Pierce Brosnan in) hands down.

The Lack of gadgets and a good storyline is so refreshing. Daniel Craig is excellent and I wish him all the best!

It still doesn't quite bring back the "spy" feel to the movies however. It needed an undergound volcano lair. The lack of a Shirley Bassey soundtrack also disappointed me!

I saw Casino Royale yesterday, had to go to a crappy normal cinema in the east end to see it, but it was totally worth it.

I had reservations about Daniel Craig being bond, but he's definitely worthy of the role. Great storyline, lots of action, it's just brilliant.

I went to see Casino Royale today and it is up there as one of my favourite films of all times. It was really that good! I can't wait to watch it again. Everyone go see it now!

I also saw Borat a couple of days ago or something and found it absolutely hilarious

Can't wait for Saw 3 now!

I grew up with Pierce as bond...I kind of miss that. Although, truth be told, I havent actually seen a whole old Bond film. Im like the guy that likes the Harry Potter movies because Ive never read the book (hey, thats true too. The first ones seemed a little childish...I liked the others). Oh well, I have a horrible opinion.

I wanted more gadgets and more random mobs of henchmen getting killed, but this one actually had a story. I liked the last bit, very exciting. I thought some parts seemed slow...and not enough spy-ness. I liked the whole story and dramaticism and everything.

I wouldve liked it more if I didnt talk the entire time and had desperatley needed to go to the bathroom in the end. I sprinted out when the first words of the credits popped up.

I was packing my bag getting ready to leave...

I really needed to pee so the last half hour basically was me just waiting for the credits to pop up. I liked what happened in the ending...it should just have happened somewhere IN the movie.

I didn't think that the film had ended after the poker game, because I remembered the Aston crash and the sinking house from the trailer. However, I think the film should have ended after the poker game. I'm all for this modern darker Bond, and I'll even permit him to have a few emotions if it keeps the franchise ticking over, but why the hell was he suddenly recuperating in a wheelchair and wittering on about his armour, only to suddenly try and run off with Vesper; that is not the Bond I want to see. Plus the Venetian sinking house set piece was a load of cack, perhaps they thought that they could whatever the hell they liked as it couldn't possibly be worse than the ending of Die Another Day.

Other than that though, I thought the film was excellent. Definitely my second favourite Bond of all time (that's been directed by Martin Campbell anyway).

Pirates of the Carribean - Dead Man's Chest, DVD.

I got this yesterday and have now watched it twice. It is a terrific family entertainment blockbuster - as you would expect from Brukheimer and Disney. Depp is sensational as Jack Sparrow and the music from Hans Zimmer is awesome.

The DVD has tons of features which I will probably never watch, but does carry an amazing DTS soundtrack which completes the movie.

Recommended!

Oooh, you just reminded me (somehow, because you didn't mention it...), Miami Vice is out on DVD at the end of this week! So yes, that'll very much be 'now playing' soon. I'm keen to watch it again actually, because the first half of the film goes by at such breakneck speed, it'd be handy to watch again because i'm sure it'd make more sense.
