New attractions at Paultons Park

We were at the park today. There is a pile drilling machine in the area by Cobra's first helix.

The more interesting bit was the conversation I had with a member of staff. The big thing this year is the race to be the first Gameplay Theatre to open (between Ghostly Manor and the Europa Park one - obviously we expect Europa to win as it's Mack).

HOWEVER - next year - definitely a ride with an inversion. Also - another race to be the first to get a type of ride. The competitor is potentially a European park. We asked if it was another park in the UK, and they said Europe - so keep an eye on what's coming in Europe for 2026, and this may lead to what's coming to Paultons.
I wonder what ride this will be. - considering it's not explicitly a coaster, it could be a flat.

I have a feeling it's one of those new Intamin Family Thrill LSM launches although there's other rides that could fit this such as a full scale S&S Axis.

The only two coasters announced in Europe for 2026 that would fit the bill i'm aware of are the Family Thrill Launch at Parc Spirou in France (though that doesn't have inversions so unlikely to be the one), the GCI at Isla Magica in Spain (again though no inversions but perhaps a contender otherwise)...or the hinted at coaster for Plopsaland of which there are currently no details.
Which could be viable. Who’s to say the inversion has to be a coaster. I’ve always thought an RMC wild moose would be a good fit.

I still have a feeling in my bones it'll be a GCI with an inversion. Especially now we're seeing the one at Isla Magica (as @Bowser says), which is 100% Titan Track. Not sure whether that'd count as the "rival" coaster (because it doesn't have an inversion), but GCI are offering so many small designs now, there could easily be a few next year that aren't announced yet.

Well well well, to those who said Paultons accommodation was not going to be a thing for a while, it looks like the trademarks for Paultons park lodges and resort were for something.

The park have put in a planning application for a fancy resort and lodges 😍

And whats even better is it is on that unused plot of land, super excited for the future.

The project will have.
-the accommodation will be a mix of 2,3 and 4 bed self catering units.
-restaurant
-shop
-welcome building
-entertainment room
-game room
-new park entrance

I like that will be in a Scandinavian style right next to the Viking land and a central lake should make this quite pretty.

Wow, that was unexpected (I for one thought accomodation was at least a couple of years away). The most intriguing thing for me is the reference to a ‘Scandinavian’ style - hopefully this means the accommodation will be at least loosely themed to match the new Viking area. Regardless, it feels like this could be the step that really catapults Paultons from a small regional family park into an overnight ‘destination’ resort.

The future is incredibly exciting and I feel so lucky to live very close to this amazing park!

That’s a turn up for the books! Looks like they’re potentially really going for it especially if it ties in with the Viking theme

Seems like a good use for their last bit of land. I didn't realise until recently, though, that the Paultons estate used to be massive - 3,000 acres! The "Manor of Ower" - it must have been most of the land between Ower and Furzley.

They actually own a lot of land, most of the woodland behind the new accommodation and the fields between the main road and the park itself.

Putting the accommodation so close to the park would make for a more immersive experience but would leave Paultons with little to no room for future expansion.

Whether they would remove the gardens, if they even can with the old foundations of the Manor, build by the lake though spoiling residential views or push the car park towards the main road. With how much they’re investing recently and if these current investments are successful, who’s to say they won’t purchase the golf course the other side of the river which was part of the old estate.

Hi guys,

I was at Paulton's on Saturday and footers for the new 2026 ride are in progress and visible when riding Cobra. Most of the construction of the new footers are in and around Cobra, so looking like there will be some nice interaction between the two rides.

Footers that can been seen are:
  1. In the middle of the field clearly making a 90 degree turn.
  2. On the old footpath leading from Cobra to the Digger Ride.
  3. Footers in and around Cobras first drop, quite hard to deduce whats going on here as there is a lot. Either looks like two passing turns or a turntable.
I've drawn below what the current track could look like based on what can be seen so far.

Wow! A ride intertwining with Cobra could be interesting!

I don’t know if I’m reaching a bit here, but that to me might also imply that this coaster is more likely to be custom rather than a clone/stock layout like Paultons’ previous coaster additions. That to me is really exciting; I’d be intrigued to see what Paultons does with a proper custom coaster!

For me currently, Paultons Park has an excellent supporting coaster lineup, but lacks a real exciting custom headliner. For clarity, I’m not even talking about a massive thrill ride, as I know Paultons isn’t a hardcore thrill park and likely never will be. I’m talking about a really ambitious, custom coaster that’s a step above their other rides. If this 2026 addition gives them that headliner, then I think it could put them in a very strong position and definitely elevate them up a peg for me!

Awesome to see some footers already, also the park have built a new path incredibly fast. Looking back at pictures from the start of the month there was a dirt line now this. Wish Paultons were in charge of fixing the road outside my house 🥲

With the supports appearing on the land by Cobra i hope this dirt plot is all for the new star attraction (if the supports are for it), would be great if it could go over the path too as a cool entrance to the land.

Thank you for the update @Coaster Cam

I was thinking "It'd be a pretty small Stryker to get in under the 25M permitted development limit. Voltron is over 32M and feels tiny in terms of height."

Then I realised, after checking, that Helios is only 23M!

I guess nothing is impossible. 😂

While i don't believe it will be a Mack Stryker i'd absolutely love to see something like Helios at Paultons! That kind of size ride would be a great fit.
