Dollywood | Lightning Rod | Launched RMC

I found a picture showing off that insane quadruple down.

Yes please.

SO glad I didn't make the trip to Dollywood this year. I could have stopped by on the way back from SFOG a few weeks ago, but decided against it as I was pressed for time. This coaster alone will be worth the trip. Hell, all it could be is that quad down and I'd be happy. That element is going to be insane...especially in the back. Mother of God..

PLUS Kentucky Kindgom is along the way...I'll be able to pick up my first two RMC's on my first trip of the year next season. Score!

My fat ass is going to be at Dollywood next June. I'll try not to get thrown and ruin it for the rest of you.

Feel like I'm eating a bit of crow after my statement to Jarrett last night, but I've seen the layout so not really.

Outlaw, Storm Chaser, Fury and this all in one trip? Twist my **** arm.

I'm glad Dollywood opens in March. You better believe I'll be down there for spring break. Screw the beach, haha.

Here's a construction pic. I assume that the cutout ot the left is the launch up and the right cut is the quad down. What you can't see in the pic is the coaster will go to the left after the quad down and 180 bank back up the hill and pass by.

For those tat haven't seen the construction photos I posted on our Facebook page:

While I'm sure this ride will be amazing to ride it carries on what in my (probably unpopular) opinion is a line of aesthetically awful looking RMC designs. I just don't like the look of their rides. Possibly because they break tradition so often and don't follow the usual flow of more traditional rides. They just aren't pleasing to my eye at all.

But I guess when it comes down to it as long as the ride rides well it doesn't really matter.
I agree with you on this one. While GCI makes aesthetically beautiful rides it's a shame that RMC (and GG) only focus on the rider experience. After all: a roller coasters is as much for the onviewers as the actual riders!

But oh well, this will be one hell of a ride!! So couldn't really care much for RMC not caring for aesthetics right now :p

This ride is themed to AMERICAN cars. Am I the only one that noticed they showed the spedometer of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS right after talking about American muscle and horsepower in the animation promo? Me being a huge car guy, I noticed that lol. Anyways, again, this ride looks freaking incredible.

I'm on the other side of the fence. I think RMC rides are some of the most striking rides being built right now. Goliath has such a presence about it that I've never seen before. Same with Iron Rattler, Twisted Colossus and now Lightning Rod.

Sure it's not what we're use to, and that's exactly what i like about it.
