"Cutting Edge" Trip reports

Swat said:
Live Update for you... park opened 15mins late. Park power cut. All coasters currently down. 1hr queue for samurai. Saw, stealth, loggers, slammer down all day. Leaving to go to london in 15min. Joke.

Off TowerTimes member AstroDan who is at Thorpe Park today... Not a good opening weekend for Thorpe is it.

Pathetic start for Thorpe.

I hope your having better luck at Paultons.

Of course it Paultons. They are awesome (im not bumming Paultons, I just love it because its my homepark <3)

Well i'm back from Paultons - its great having a live so close to home.

Paultons was by far a much better day than Thorpe in every way possible. Lots of laughs, they managed to have all their rides open, queues were short and Edge is a good ride.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend.

Just got back and have to agree that paultons was a much better day than thorpe. With no ride breakdowns and sunny weather it made it a great end to the weekend!. Cheers everyone :)

Today was brilliant. Loved it far more than Thorpe's live day.

Paultons is quite a lovely park with a great atmosphere, and I really enjoyed most of the rides.

Thanks to whoever put this event together.

THORPE PARK

Firstly I apologise disbanding the group after lunch but I felt I had no choice.

If we had stuck together we would have got on about two rides, which would have annoyed people. In the condition the park was in on Saturday, I thought it best that people do their own thing.

I didn't have a terrible day at Thorpe chatting to people, just a disappointing one ride-wise.

I'm not going to post about the day cus there isn't much to post, nor am I going to get involved in the is "Thorpe is LOL" stuff.

Today (Paultons) on the other hand was ****ing brilliant. Couldn't have asked for better weather, company, atmosphere, park quietness or value-for-money.

I shall write a full report tomorrow.

Thanks to everybody who turned up on both days!

Will say before my main report. Well done Paultons good idea to have mechanics riding bikes. They got the Jumping Bean running again really fast so fast a doubt if it is even classed as a break down. Good food as well at a good price.

Main report will be later will a video and photos.

Had an amazing day today and well made up for lack of rides at Thorpe yesterday.
Was great meeting new people and got to chat to some new people today which was nice.

Day was full of fun and antics, weather was great, rides were great. Just couldn't have asked for a better day really.

Just a short one from me this time.

I had a ****ing good time at Paultons, not only was it a new park for me and my first for 2009, but the weather was ****ing excellent, the group was better and the whole day was just fantastic. The park itself was great too, not too busy and amazingly clean and friendly.

So yeah, I've had a damn good day! I'll sort out pictures later on, and maybe post a longer report.

Also, thanks to Ian for organising and everyone else for a great day.

Personally enjoyed both days very much.

Thorpe, purely on a social level. I got to see people and spend some quality time with them. I could have done a few rides, but I was content enough just talking away and soaking up the nicish weather.

Today, Paultons was a great day, great weather, great people, great grand prix!

I have waaaaaay too many pictures of the racing, which could take a while to sift through... so bear with me. Got some really nice ones of you lot though!

Cheers to all attended and to Ian for the organisation. WICKED WEEKEND!

Just a short one from me.

Thorpe was well I dont need to comment really, I could have done more rides had I been in the mood but after Thursday then Saturday with Saw I lost interest.

But I really enjoyed chatting to the group so that was good.

Paultons was a great family park, Edge is really good and Cobra was great I really liked them both. The park is so tidy and has grass which makes a change lol :)

So today was good I enjoyed it and had a laugh.

Sorry we left early but was trying to save money by not having to visit Thorpe for some time and thought we would stop at Thorpe on the way home as we had to drive past it. Saw was still closed.

Saw I dont think is the fault of Thorpe though, its just new ride problems yes questions need to be asked about the testing but am sure it will be ok soon.

What Thorpe do have to answer for is the rest of the park but they did give people passes so they know they messed up.

Yeah, Paultons was top notch. The rides aren't the best on paper, but fun and ice cream was had in spades.

In addition, cheers to Stone Cold for ferrying me about all weekend.

Top stuff!

I had a great time at Thorpe Park even though I only did one ride.
Still cannot believe that SAW closed after a long queue.
But in the end I got 6 fast track tikets and I am useing them all on SAW!!!

Both days can be summed up with one letter each...

Thorpe
- Subway
- Saw
- Socialising
- ****

Paultons
- Meerkats
- Motorsport
- McDonald's
- Marvellous

Full trip report, when I have enough effort

Had a quite excellent day today, with the main highlight surely being the Pub Lunch with Erol, Richard, Will and Lain. Hilarious stuff.

Paultons is a really good park.
Cobra and Edge were both very good, and the rest of the rides were also lots of fun.
Thankyou to everybody who made this day sooo much infinitely better than yesterday. :)

I'm back and sunburnt!

Jesus, what a weekend!
Thorpe spectacularly failed! (As mentioned above) and after being sent out of the Saw queue, I just generally lacked all enthusiasm for any rides and Thorpe in general.

But Paultons rocked! I had a wonderful time today, 100 times better than Thorpe.

I've also got a hell of a lot of photos to sift through, but I shall get the Paultons group photos up tomorrow. :)

Cheers for a good weekend.
