Cheetah Hunt- Intamin for Busch Gardens Tampa

I thought all rollercoasters have to go through clearance testing? I'm pretty sure part of Hollywood Rocket's scenery had to be changed because the clearance envelope wasn't big enough.

I think it may vary from state to state.. and from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Of course.. that is just a guess.

Should go through the Furie clearance test, remember him reaching out on PMBO and trying to 'tap' Roller Coaster, hit it with more of a thwack with white paint on his hand from it.

Pictures from the other day:

The station area, they were putting up another pole to the left of the entrance here.

Cement work was being done in the station itself.

This is looking really good!

Over here you can see some sort of theming elements, there are some roof things and you can sort of see a rock with a cheetah on it and the two driftwood statues.

Over here they're still doing work on paths and borders, along with fencing.

I think this will be used for seating and such.

And a panorama of the whole area.

Real shame I'm not going to get to ride this anytime soon.. but the theming does remind me of Montu's area.

Is it just me or is anybody else not excited for this ride? I just think the layout looks pretty boring. I mean, I loved the quick low to the ground turns on Maverick, but that was because they were only one part of a ride filled with crazy elements. This ride just doesn't seem to have many awesome elements. Oh well, at least there's something other than a B&M going into a Floridian Park (not that they're bad, there's just a lot in Florida).

I am. The fact that it's an intamin in the southeast, has three (hopefully decent) launches, looks like it has really good interaction with the landscape, and has at what looks like a little airtime. It seems like something to be happy about.

There aren't many intamins in the world with exceptional landscape interaction, so that alone excites me.

This ride looks very good, not the most intense, but it will be a great thrill ride, with even better theming.

Yeah, once all the trench work and other theming is done, this will look phenomenal. :--D

Of course.. looking and actually being are two different discussions. ;)

Until now I thought the station was hideous. Even with it's paint job, it was just a cement shell. But them adding logs to it has REALLY enhanced it and gave it a bit of texture. It looks fantastic now!

Just realized how excited I am over this project, can't wait for all the theming to be finished. Used to think the figure 8 top hat looked stupid, but I've actually grown quite fond of it. :)
