Canada's Wonderland | Alpenfury | Premier Rides Launch Coaster | 2025

What's wrong with Ziz?
Yes, it sounds like a naughty word, but also "Behemoth" and "Leviathan" have entered the public lexicon. No one is gonna look at either name and be confused. Ziz, on the other hand? It's like comparing "dragon" to "roc".

Anyone who has to google what a roc is after reading this, sound off. :p

Nice poster seen at the park. Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Ride?

I know it's incredibly unlikely after all the issues that went down with dueling dragons, but would be cool if this was a racing coaster. Actually thinking about it, it could be. We know it's premier, could be a similar thing to what west coast racers does, which is a fun ride but could be a great ride without the "comfort" collars that make the ride really uncomfotable. That I think would be cool even though I do hope it's closer to dueling dragons because lord does this park need more rides with high capacity.

I say that it’s incredibly unlikely because the footers poured only support one track, and the tunnel where it’s expected to exit isn’t wide enough for two side by side tracks. It’s been pretty hard to convince people that the racing element won’t happen.

It's just my speculation obviously. I agree with you it's unlikely, but then the marketing campaign probably isn't doing them any favors since it very clearly shows two opposing elements on display.

A racing element would only be good if the cars had some sort of onboard game to play, that you start playing in the queue, where the results have a real world affect on the train launch speeds so your actions actually decide which train wins in the dual.

Adding any kind of game sounds like an expensive, hard-to-sync gimmick that most guests wouldn't bother with at all. (And, more importantly, wouldn't actually draw people to the park).

Racing elements are fun because you get to see another train of passengers mid-ride.

Certainly a unique choice for Canada's Wonderland. Excited to see how this one turns out - I did enjoy Full Throttle and this seems arguably the most ambitious ride Premier have tackled since then. Interaction with the mountain and the other coasters looks fab, and there looks to be some really strong individual elements (the inverted top hat, the stall, the inverting turnaround thing). That said, much of the second half seems to be doing more or less the same inversion over and over, in lieu of something more interesting. Let's just hope the animation is right and it doesn't have "comfort collars"...

I wonder why they went for Premier over, say, Mack or Intamin for this layout? No multi-directional launch element is comparatively unusual for Premier in this day and age.

Hmm that's unexpectedly large.

Off ride video too - bit of interaction with the other rides, nice.

No "comfort" collars on the trains in that ^ video, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.1723110352967.png

Capacity looks poor though?

Confuses me why they went with 9 instead of 10 inversions, because they could’ve marketed it as the most inversions in North America

This looks great. Big fan of the Fire Serpent Roll with its crazy motion, popping out and behind the mountain which will look great from the entrance plaza 🔥
