What's new

Ben Ten Alien Thing - Junior Boomerang, DMP

Has it been mentioned that Happy Feet is being spited for Marvin the Martian 4D? It's in their leaflets didnt know if it's been discussed...?

I know about it Ben, but I don't know if it was here I read it or somewhere else. Has to be a massive improvement :)

^Yeah I read it somewhere too, not sure where though. Happy feet was good as a marketing point of view but the attraction was just poor. Lets hope this new show is better.

In all honesty, I think its there for show actually...I dont think the train will actually make it up onto the last bit.

Ben 10 actually looks awesome! Not only for kids, but also for plenty of antics. :p

Also, thank god for the repaint of G-Force, that thing was getting to look dire.

Ben 10 looks great, it's nice to see something "new" for the younger crowds...

Now if only they could re-build it.

Wow, I didn't realise how much this park is doing for this year. I know a lot of it is just touching up on the aesthetics and what not. But still, painting, creating/extending shops, making the park look better is more then a lot of parks do every year, it did need it!

^ Its all the small things like that which can make a big difference to a park.

When I visited in 2006 the place was a dump, but last year, I loved the place, it had improved so so much, and the only real gripe I had was that the rides were starting to look grubby, so to sort out Maelstrom, G-Force and Shockwave is fantastic. Good on em.

Shockave trains have both been rebuilt: new wheels, restraints, red & Blue colours and they have started repainting the tracks.

So they might finish that by 2020 then :p Seriously though, why are they repainting it again? They haven't finished the last repaint yet?

Still, this is all great news, and I may just go back again this year

I can't actually agree more with you to be totally honest. There's so many parks I've been and thought, "That looks vile", then returned for them to do the park up. That's why I don't understand people having a go at Amanda at Pleasurebeach, yeah, she has added a hell of a lot of fountains, but, she has made that park look REALLY nice compared to what it did say 2/3 years ago.

Thanks for sharing that, Tom. It was an interesting read.

When I visited last year, all but Thomasland looked tatty and appeared to be deteriorating. It's as if they only cared about Thomas the ****ing Tank Engine.

With a lick of paint here and there, I'm sure it'll be more pleasant when I visit in May.

Ben10 does look good. Certainly the most exciting new coaster in the UK this year!

The park has definatly had a tidy up.

All the food places that i saw have had a tidy up and now look modern, the food in the chicken place was amazing and imo nicer than the kfc you get near the park.

I forgot to mention that the Blackrevolver building is still standing but the ride has been removed from within and the outside balcony and queue and exit ramps have been removed.

Stormforce is also being repainted, or at least the supports are.

The main gift shop now i would say its the one actually outside the park as that has the main park merchandise in it the others are themed to the areas or specialist like the toy shop etc.

They have fixed some of the animatronics in pirate adventure but as i feel its going to be removed soon i doubt nothing major will happen to it.

Any news on Excalibore? Last year, it was in a shocking state of repair. It was utterly dire. Pirate adventure wasn't too bad, especially considering the difference in age between the two attractions. I know which one of the two I'd rip out, given the choice.

Update on the rides opening, draytonmanor.com lists the ride opening on April 23rd, that's Easter Saturday.

Bloody typical as we were planning on going on Good Friday.

See it for yourself HERE!

Press day is the 22nd so you may be lucky as it may open to the public later in the day although im not totally sure on event times yet.

I didnt go on Excalibur as I only spent a few hours in the park but i know there are plans for the splash battle conversion so again i wudnt be surprised if not much has been done on it.
