The metal rods are used for the footers. It helps give them strength.

I know Rebar is used in the footers, but the poles in the ground now dont seem to be footer related.

I wasn't talking about the rebar. I was talking about the rods in the ground.

Yeh the metal rods are used to help the footer stay strong, they help it keep its shape and generally stay strong.

These, right?

That's rebar. "Rebar" is a shorthand version of "reinforcing bar."

I wasn't talking about that either. I'm talking about these things.

It's not wiring, it could be something to do with like anchoring for the theming?

To me, that looks like concrete piles. The bits sticking out of the one in the bottom left hand corner looks like protruding re-bar from when the pile has been cut off, ready to go in the concrete ground beams and pile caps.

It doesn't appear to have uniformity, suggesting it isn't load-bearing.

I originally thought that, however if you look at them, they are in triangular patterns which is a standard formation of piles for a pile cap. Each of these pile caps will then possibly support a column depending on location. The other thing that strongly suggests they are piles is what appears to be an auger piling drill to the right of the photo! :p

Has anyone seen this yet? A building of some kind on the site. It's been there a month or so, can be seen from behind Enterprise.

Probably for a power station or something boring...

That building is the substation.

EDIT: A picture from today of the site (17/09/12). It appears foundations may begin soon, since the rebar has been moved towards the station area, and made into rectangular forms.

Has anyone not noticed in the plans that the angle the ride enters the building is strange? Could the worlds first be something to do with the inside section and a 90 degree turn? Maybe the track sort of isn't there, you teter off the edge a bit (I do think new cars will be used with the wheels closer to the rear) and then the thing goes dark and you make a sharp turn to the right ? I don't really know, but if it is a normal 90 degree turn, the capacity on the ride might fall short. The block will be about 6 secs from the station.

I'm so confused to what you're explaining. A turntable has been done before & a Wild Mouse has been constructed indoors, so I don't understand where you're coming from? :)

Actually, thinking about it, a cinematic fight between aliens, complete with tilting track and lasers and that. Video game coaster? It would make sense.

As feasible (somewhat) as that sounds, you've just described a precedented dark ride...remember this is a coaster.

Also, that seems comparatively hopeless to the alleged Swarm / Gears of war correlation....AT would be far more innovative :--D

Highly unlikely but do you think it's a Wing Coaster, whether by B&M, Intamin or even Gertslauer giving it a spin? (No pun intended.)
