2011 - The season for small UK parks?

If people cannot afford to go to the big parks (Alton, Chessington, Blackpool, Thorpe and Legoland) they won't go to a theme park, or they'll go to a smaller park if it's local and chances are they may have already been to that park recently and choose not to go again. Unless smaller parks...

    Favourite tin of sweets

I really don't like Roses, the only chocolates I eat are the Strawberry Dream and the Country Fudge. Celebrations are fine. I tend to avoid the Mars ones but the others are fine. I particularly like the Galaxy Truffle and the Maltesers. However, as someone else has said before, you can pretty...

Have you seen somebody famous at a theme park?

I got queue jumped twice by Alexandra Burke at Thorpe's Fright Nights last year. The first time was on Colossus as well and we even had exit passes, so technically she queue jumped us queue jumpers. :P I can't think of any other celebrities I've seen, but on that same visit, someone mistook...

Favourite B&M Floorless Steel Roller Coaster?

Technically, Griffon is classed as a Floorless coaster so I'd say that. Otherwise it would have to be the only conventional floorless I've been on which is Kraken. I quite liked Kraken to be honest, not a brilliant ride but I didn't think it was terrible either.

    What's in a name?

Tom - what most people call me and the name I'd prefer to be called. Thomas - my "official" name but it is only really used if I'm in trouble or if I'm being annoying. 9 times out of 10 it's said in the same voice as the woman from Tom and Jerry uses. (Thomas, is that you in the kitchen?)...

Don't be deceived by its looks Neal, it's rubbish!

    Favourite B&M Invert?

If that's the case, I haven't got high hopes for Great Bear. Silver Bullet was rubbish.

Silver Bullet - A NoLimits Recreation

I have no experience of No Limits, but I'd just like to say it looks MILES better than the real Silver Bullet.

    "Now Showing"

Just got back from seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and I thought it was utterly brilliant! Huge, HUGE improvement from the frankly awful Half-Blood Prince and without doubt the best of the series so far. The film adaptation is very well done. There are many parts of the...

    Parc Asterix |"Oz'Iris"| B&M Invert

Actually, the third inversion is an immelmann and I'd say the first inversion is a dive loop. Repetition shouldn't matter anyway. Montu, one the most raved about B&M Inverts has two vertical loops and Nemesis has two wingovers. Nevertheless it still looks like a fantastic ride. Also it looks...

    Parc Asterix |"Oz'Iris"| B&M Invert

Found this whilst browsing online and it looks rather interessant. If this is true, fantastic news for the park but also for Europe's coaster industry and I reckon this will REALLY place Asterix at the top-end of the European market. EDIT by Ian: Image credit from http://www.coasterfriends.de

    Milestones in Your Counts

Depending on whether I get to Paultons early next year, my 100th should be something in Florida providing I get on all the "credits" and if it is, it'll be something at Busch seeing as that's where most of them are going to come from. :) I've been stuck in the 80s for a couple of seasons now...

    Photos of Taylor

The thing is, most conventional coasters start with the largest drop and negotiate from there, so effectively you could argue that it's always losing pacing. Nemesis is designed to pick up speed and maintain good pacing but it dies because after picking up so much speed, it wastes it on the...

    Photos of Taylor

Totally agree with Ben and UC, the pacing on Nemesis is really poor and the stall turns really do kill the ride. (I think I've said that numerous times before actually.) The ride pretty much dies after the zero-g. Nemesis on Thirteen's opening day was AWFUL. It was sooo rough it gave me a...

    Ghosterforce 7 Trip Reports

Actually Will won the buttons competition, I won on epaulettes. (Including 2 unexpected epaulettes. :P ) I only went to Chessie but I had a fantastic day and it was great to see some people again and talk to CFers I hadn't met before. There was only one problem with the day in my eyes and...
