Rides are generally built in a bit of a "random" order, because it's usually easiest.

This isn't RCT you know. Someone isn't sitting there doing it in order and hoping it makes it back to the station.

I very much doubt the order is random. There must be a reason why they put things up at certain times.

^Yeah, cause it's easiest...

If you did it in order, some bits would be blocked off, be more difficult in the weather, etc.

Isn't this all fairly elementary...? Why do I feel like I've stumbled into Rollercoaster Construction for Dummies?

^^ God, just trying to be nice, how do you know? you popped down to the construction site and asked them?

It could be because of the weather, because with winter coming they'd most likely prefer to do the ground stuff last when its coldest, it would make sense.

And Zero-g is looking nice, that angle makes it look more smoother than the earlier image.

Also don't forget that some sections of the layout have been made, to let the ride effects be put in early, like with the water jets. I pressume tommorrow we should see the track section going up to the in-line twist go up, so that water jets can be added onto that section as well.

Not quite sure who you're addressing, it seems to imply Joey, but then your reply makes little sense...

Either way, we know this sort of thing because it's basic common sense.

Just drove past thorpe on the M3 and the 0g has had the next section put in connecting it to that support that when up on... friday? :--D its hugeee. Stands out from a distance even more than stealth because of the darker track.

have they started constructing that tower and crash scene bit where the inline twist goes through? ...... Does the inline twist actually go through the station?

2 Questions in 1 post :D

No they haven't, and it goes above but very close to the station building.

Wow, they're making great progress. Not sure why, but B&M always seems to construct their coasters faster than any other ones. Look at Wild Eagle for another example...

It has alot to do with the simplistic and minimalistic nature that B&M's have. They do not have supports going everywhere and footers all over the place. Also, each track piece will only ever have one support attached to it, normally less, but never more than that. Finally it all comes down to the precision that B&M designs to really, everything just kind of fits together like a big puzzle, and if it doesn't fit then B&M knew it all along and added adjustment plates on that spine connector to easily get it to fit. Along with this comes great construction planning, which I am sure they have down to a science by now.

When they test rides for the first time, do they run it with the trims turned off and then trim speeds down, or do they run with trims on and run trim speeds up?

If those trims are already installed, they have been tested or calculated before to take that place now. Runnig the trains during tests, with trims activated or not its just part of the setting up procedures, and this is usually stated at plans and manuals by the manufacturer. The trims can be adjusted to solve small speed/aceleration diferences so this could be solved at test runs.

Oh, ****, here we go, another 90 page discussion about the ride having trains an people bitching about it. Who cares if it's got trims? If you're arsed about that, don't ride it, or, to be totally honest, if you are bothered about it, that's a bit sad really. Least it's not Th13teen with trims EVERYWHERE.

^^Double-post!

Right, the trim will have virtually NO EFFECT on the ride (hopefully), I've ridden Raptor(which is awesome) and the trim makes no difference, apart from noise. Does everyone agree with me there?

I doubt they'll do much of the zero-g now and they'll focus more on the inline twist.

But the big question is...which will be finished first (track)? Swarm or Wild Eagle? My bets on Wild Eagle.....

I don't give a monkeys about trims, the only thing that matters is that the whole ride completes its circuit, and that's that. The only thing a trim is, is a hissy thing that shuts and opens, but nothing that would change the ride dramatically. Now anyway, when were the ride effects specialists said to be coming to thorpe to install the water jets?

Lets just drop the trims. I don't feel the difference, and they are put in for a reason, so there is no point in complaining about them.
Anyway, there are going to be water jets?!? YAY!
