Your last WOW! moment

^ Great airtime, especially at the back. It's really intense for the whole layout and really doesn't let up until you hit the brakes. It's a bit brutal, but more in an intense than a rough way.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the launch on Baco. Most of the ride was complete crap (and made me lose my favourite hair band), but the launch was just so unexpected. I've been on Ka, Dragster, and many other fast launched coasters, and though Baco's is slower, the acceleration felt so powerful. I was definitely taken by surprise. Also, a gift shop with wine <3

Riding Outlaw Run for the first time, yeah... Like in the "literally what???! just happened to my body in the last thirty seconds???" sense.

First time on Leviathan and first time on Prowler and Beast at night were also major wow moments.

Riding Griffon at night, front row far left seat, and having the fireworks show start as we crested the lift hill.

My latest one was probably also one of the most intense ones - front row on Formula Rossa. The sun had just gone down too, which added a nice little touch to the atmosphere. Just the immense roar of air in my ears, that tremendous sensation of speed, and my mouth drying in a second because I opened it for some reason. Even if it braked down at the end of the launch, the coaster still was fast as all heck. Too bad it had been closed for most of the day, so that when it finally opened, all the people in the park rushed over to ride it, resulting in 90-minute queues. I got only one ride, but wow it was worth the wait.

Entering the enormous hall of Ferrari World was also quite cool. As an engineering student, I really appreciated the trusswork porn surrounding me on all sides. I know most enthusiasts at some point entertain the thought of building a woodie model with matches one day, but for a proper challenge, do the Ferrari World dome.

Riding Helix last year was also quite a "wow" moment. The rest of the CF-ers at Liseberg that day had ridden it early in the morning, and assured me that "It was okay, but not top ten or anything". Turned out that:
1) The ride had warmed up a bit over the day. It was late afternoon when I rode it.
2) My measly 25-ish coaster count means that "outside the top 10" for me is a fantastically crappy ride. While many other people might have ridden coasters that give Helix a run for the money, I hadn't, and Helix placed itself among the best ones I've ridden - if not THE best. I had got low-ish expectations, but had them all blown away. That was "wow" indeed.

My last one was my first time on Leviathan in the front row. Having recently went on Nitro (which was meh), I thought Leviathan wouldn't be as good as I originally thought. That all changed when I rode it for the first time. I never even knew roller coasters could be so good!

Just remembered SpinSpider at Tusenfryd.

Just utter bliss all the way - I love the way the spinning is slow enough to ensure everyone gets a share of all positions - throughout the ride - unlike KMG afterburners where only some lucky people get to be at the top seat at the top of the swing!

It's got to be Kingda Ka, which I rode for the first time last year.
I'm not gonna lie, the whole holiday was based around the prospect of that one ride. El Toro and I305 just solidified the deal. As it turned out, we were very lucky to get on the thing because of the delays to Zumanjaro, but about 4pm on our only day at SFAGAdv, and for the very first time that season, KK opened to the public (for about an hour) and we got our ride.
What can I say? Mind well and truly blown.
I can understand the criticisms levelled at it by regulars - getting rough, OTSR's rather than lap bars etc... but come on. 128mph in 3.5 secs? 456ft tall? You ain't arguing with those statistics, man! It's one crazy-ass ride. After 9 long years of dreaming about the thing, finally sitting on the launch pad was just terrifying. Utterly utterly terrifying. And the ride itself actually exceeded my expectations. By miles!

There were several Wow moments on the same trip to be fair, El Toro, Volcano - The Blast Coaster (didn't see THAT coming!) and pretty much the whole of BGW, but Kingda Ka was the Daddy of all Wow moments.
Awesome. Just awesome.

^Kingda Ka is a difficult one. I was really looking forward to ride it, even though I read the comments on this forum. While riding it I found the launch to be incredible, simply amazing! But, and that's a big but, everything else aboute the ride was horrible >< The intense shaking distracted me so much that both the sensation of speed and height was lost, and I would certainly have needed a visit to a chiropractor afterwards... I found the tiny (in this context) Stealth a far superior ride!!

My girl friend on the other hand loved Kingda Ka, and it's still her number one.

I DO know where you're coming - I did notice the shaking, and I freely admit that KK is a novelty ride, a gimmick, a one trick pony. I'm quite certain that after multiple re-rides the novelty and the fear-factor would wear off... but me? I've only had 1 go on it, and I've not ridden TTD to make the comparison, so for the time being at least, I'm well and truly in love with the thing! Let's just say that the memory of that 1 ride is still pretty vivid!
