World Cup Brazil 2014

Serves the **** right. Absolute bastard.

He should have a bigger fine though, that's not even half a week's wages.

He should be suspended, banned from the World Cup, and be given that Hannibal Lecter mask (the ones with the bars over the mouth) from Silence of the Lambs.

Surprised nobody reacted like this when Ghana's guy tried to punch ours (I forget who was involved) because he clearly jumped on him and raised a fist.

Glad we got out of the bracket, though. I'm done hearing about Ronaldo and ready to hopefully destroy Belgium.

Suarez has lost sponsorship from '888poker', with 'immediate effect' following the biting incident. The Italian footballer he bit, Giorgio Chiellini, has now come out in public saying Suarez's ban is 'excessive'. Is he having a laugh? What a fool.

^Well Uruguay probably things it bites that they're out! XD

Don't know much about this, but someone actually did the math and apparently you have a better chance of being bitten by Luis Suarez than being bitten by a shark. :p

Can't wait to take on Belgium, though! This one's iffy but I have confidence in us. :)

So the Belgium game in three selfies...

Me ready to watch...

Being a goon because if it stays scoreless and we go to penalty kicks Howard would definitely send Belgium packing...

But then we hit extra time and I became a sad Americorn...

Sucks that Team USA is out but I can at least support the other homeland, France! For those of you who didn't know, I'm actually a first generation American on my mom's side, her family immigrated from France when she was very young. She and her parents speak French and I speak a bit, and I went there a few times as a young kid. (Fun fact: Everybody wanting me to come to England, I've been! When I was there one year we went to Calais and took a ferry to Dover.) It's a beautiful country, and for that reason I hope they do well. :) Should be a close one against Germany.

Damn...that was a nerve-wrecking game yesterday. I'm not into World Cup at all, but the World Cup craziness is everywhere in Belgium. Specially after such an amazing game like yesterday. I have watched the game on a giant screen overhere and the crowd went just crazy. Absolutely loved it. Anyway, Argentina, get ready for our Red Devils...because they are GOOD!!!

^I'm pretty sure Belgium are being backed by the whole of England too. I'm not quite sure why? Maybe it's because you don't cause any controversy, maybe it's because most of your squad play in England, but probably because you're one of the only countries left in the tournament that we haven't gone to war with.

Can someone explain why you don't just watch from your **** couch instead of going to a park or stadium or arena like every other sport?

Boggles my **** mind how all these people get off work to go sit in a park and watch an inflatable screen.

^To get the atmosphere of the crowd. I've personally never watched a match in the circumstances you've described but I understand why people do.

I personally prefer to watch it at home with family/friends with a barbecue and a few beers etc. But if I want to watch a game with the atmosphere of fellows supporters then I'll go down the battle cruiser; That is where England excels.

The matches over here are kicking off at 5.00pm and 9.00pm local time too so no need for most to arrange time off work.

Ok, well here it's anywhere from 9-9/11-3/12-4 and there are tens of thousands of people in a **** park or stadium (the stadium part isn't that mind boggling though, I've gone to World Series games in an arena when the home team was away, but there were maybe like, 3,000 people total).

Also, da **** with scarves? It's 90 degrees with 100% humidity and some of these douchebags are wearing scarves? I don't get it.

This is me trying to learn as I despise the sport. I just want to be more educated. Also, what determines extra time, then overtime, then whatever hell additional time gets added for no apparent **** reason.

Extra time is if the matched is drawn at 90 mintues and happens in the knockout round. 30 minutes is played and if there are no goals then the game goes to penalties.

Additional time is time added on for goals, injures and subtitutions to make the game 90 minutes. Basically to add on time lost by faffing.

Great idea if you're after learning the sport is to stop being so **** negative to everything about it. Douchebag.

The crowd aspect ramps up the intensity of the game somewhat, can't think of the term for it but if you're celebrating amongst thousands of other people if your team scores it just ramps up the excitement. Much better atmosphere too, you get more attatched and involved in the game emotionally. Surely you can recall the difference between watching a sports game you're involved in emotionally on your own when compared to with a room full of other people? Then magnify it. Massively.

Scarfs and flags are to football what foam fingers and beer hats are to the NFL.

There are watch parties for all sports. This isn't an uncommon occurrence and happens for most real sports.

Its my one complaint as an American is stoppage time. Even announcers cant figure it out. Would love to see a study done of stoppage time awarded vs. actual delay time. I mean, for every goal there is a good 90 seconds of celebrating yet some of these blowouts didn't see 8 mins of stoppage time.
