World Cup Brazil 2014

I hope the US team loses so all the **** hipsters can stop acting like they are die hard fans. So tired of this **** on TV already and it's only been going for a week.

Did enjoy the gif of the guy getting sparta kicked in the **** chest though.

Good thing my job starts soon never have I seen an awful game of football England were cack.

I'm sure there have been many, MANY worse games of football, for both England and club alike...

Sooner we realise that English football needs to change drastically (NOT the B team idea, but more, let's actually get English players playing constantly at the highest levels), the better... Not that the ref helped matters by being crap, but England didn't help themselves at all...

Sooner the leagues are back the better...

Having seen the match against Algeria last world cup, I completely agree! That was DIRE

This time round, We did play really well against italy, and pretty well (at least for two 15-20 minute periods)against uraguay, and were perhaps a little unlucky in both matches (but it's not entirely down to luck).

Ultimately, I think the last England team which I thought could actually win a tournament was in france 1998 - We've been so inconsistent since then!

Oh - and If you lose your first 2 matches, you probably don't really deserve to go through!

Even though they aren't my team, I was a bit sad to see England go. Partially because we're "screwed by referee in 2010" buddies, partially because I won't get to talk **** with Jordan on Facebook in the event we would have played each other at some point. :p

But to those of you who think I'm just a goon about the amusement industry...

I've got to be the only one in the Dayton area who went all out for a FIFA Football match but I'm okay with that. Let's go USA, get out of that group! :D

Last night I made like Clint Dempsey and had a nosebleed at work, so let's take that a good omen.

Hahaha, yeah I've enjoyed our talks about the games, shame we won't get and England vs. USA match like we did in 2010.

Portugal got butt raped by Germany, US door is wide open now (beat Ghana, draw Portugal, not get killed v Germany).

You should be aiming to beat Portugal, its achievable.

This is US soccer we are talking about here. I will keep my hopes low so they can easily surpass them.

As I said....

Anyone who has watched US Soccer for longer than 2 games (granted I have only really followed since 06) saw that outcome coming. I am not even gutted that we gave up what accounted to a buzzer beater.

Still sitting pretty, only needing a draw vs Das Germans or a Portugal win (assuming we dont lose by 4+ to Germany).

^I was absolutely livid when they shot that last goal but at least we didn't lose.

Just gotta give Germany a run for their money and hope Portugal beats Ghana and that should be all we need!

That being said, this probably would have gone a bit better had Altidore been back in action today.

^ yeah, his one goal in 30 premier league games last season made him a real threat....

Anyway, had a £2.00 treble on Belgium, Algeria and the Draw between USA V Portugal so I was £39.60 richer when Portugal equalised last minute :)

Jozy has 20+ goals in 70 int. games for the Yanks, he is a different player when he is representing his country.

That being said we out played Portugal and not sure he would have made a difference up front. A terrible clear in the 5th minute and a mental lapse in the 95th minute (2 on 5 I think) and we end up with a point instead of 3.

Really the only difference I see this making is we end up playing Belgium in the knockouts instead of the winner of Algeria-Russia.

Unless of course Ghana beats Portugal by +2 and we don't get at least a point vs Germany.

Surprised no-one mentioned the Suarez biting incident yesterday...

Hopefully he'll get a nice long ban for it, especially given his inadmittance of guilt afterwards...

FIFA have the power to enforce club bans as well, but we know they won't. He'll be banned for a few international games and that's it.
Absolute disgraceful player, you can't bite someone on the pitch, much less 3 people!

I saw a clip on bbc news this morning where he claimed he had "a collision" with the guys shoulder.

I had a nasty collision this morning with a bowl of porridge!

Why is it that whenever somebody does something outlandish at the World Cup, it's ALWAYS Italy that falls victim? XD
