I'm going all day from 10 till 10 tomorrow so I will try to get some snaps. Hopefully the twist at the top will have been put up.

I've just returned early from Thorpe and I saw the lift hill being topped off.

Here's a picture:

Unless my version of this thread has some posts missing from it, that's the first photo of the actual top being bolted into place?... it's a phone snap.

^ your pic was actually better, and yeah it was the 1st pic of the whole lift hill (including the top) up.
But here is a better one from the developers diary....

Its looking pretty phenomenal !
EDIT: you can see in that pic that the catwalk for the lift hill top is being lifted at the bottom there, should be up there right now.

Yeah, it's actually the BEST picture so far. The one of it on the ground is interesting, but not as good in terms of progress.

EDIT: Just seen the 'official' picture, it looks great!

Thanks for the back up!

And, if people can cope with my 18 month old motorola just a bit longer I'd also like to show you this one I snapped a little earlier:

Bring on the 'Thorpe park inversion'!

But doesn't it need to drop slightly before going into the half-in-line twist? Looks about level to me. Nothing on theswarm.co.uk to say that construction has stopped for the day so the drop might yet be started...

It looked pretty level, yeah. But the plans do say it will drop slightly before it twists.

You can see them on the CF construction blog, I won't repost them as I've posted 2 images in two posts recently.

Wouldn't usually come within a mile of this topic, but I've just had roving reporter Neal on the phone most insistent that I post this picture of the lift-hill being capped...

I think that's more of the cat-walks being lifted up. I must say this ride is gonna be awsomeeee!

And Ethan, get a video of some construction if you can be arsed dude, :p

I know others have beaten me in photos but images too big for most sites, here are just a few of what I took 13th Oct, there were originally 300, but spent all day standing talking to construction workers staff and Merlin Officials

^That wasn't as good as the comment posted earlier.

The sunset photo Neal/Will posted is beautiful. I never actually realised (see:cared) how big this thing actually is. Impressed.

Theme Uk have some more pics of today of top of lift being installed.

http://www.themeuk.net/LC12_Thorpe_ParkPG1.html

I actually met the guy who does this site yesterday hence similar pictures as we stood all day watching together, he is a very nice chap and has been running his site for about 10 years, I also met Andy from Fotowhizz, and he was also a very nice chap....

Huh? There's no sign of an actual trim on the track, and they'are normally pre-made on the track on B&M's (using Asterix as example)....

Re: The Swarm - B&M 'Wing-Rider', Thorpe Park 2012

^They're holes that can have a trim installed at a later date if the park/manufacturer decides. They don't think it needs one now, but they may find it's a bit too fast etc and want to trim it later. Cheaper to put the hole and never use it than to install a trim and have it sit there doing nothing (likewise it's ever more expensive to have to install a new section of track at a later date).
