Small News From The Theme Park Industry

Whelp that's not quite what I was expecting, but that's kind of nice. Kangaroo was probably my favorite of those 4 flats that got removed last season. I wonder if this refurbishment was always part of the plan, or if this is just a reaction to local backlash.

EDIT: Also I'm curious to see if this is going to the same plot of land, or if they're moving it elsewhere. I assume it's going back to the same spot, but that would be an interesting tell if it doesn't.

if you'd asked me which of the two parks between himeji and conneat lake would be getting new construction vs demolition, I would never have guessed himeji... the day I went there I was the only person at the park and I had to wander around until I found employees to run the rusty old rides for me

Not quite suited here, but not worthy of its own thread.

Merlin are opening a small Peter Rabbit standalone attraction in Blackpool: https://blooloop.com/brands-ip/news/merlin-peter-rabbit-attraction-blackpool/

It is replacing what was the Graffiti Golf thing on the Promenade, which I believe is underneath the Sea Life. The site has been owned by Merlin for a while, but leased out to the golf people.

It's a small site and has a small budget. But will be interesting to see what it actually does.

Bit annoyed as I was talking about this on Radio Lancashire the other week and confidently predicted it would be a Peppa Pig world! Ah well, at least I was topical.

Wasn’t that slide complex only built a couple of years ago? I could have sworn I remembered it being announced…

A new family coaster is coming to Freizeit-land Geiselwind for 2022 in the safari themed area. The name and theme seem quite familiar 😅

Strictly speaking, we have a construction thread for this coaster, but ... meh. It hasn't seen activity for over a year, why start now.

It would appear that ART Engineering now offers some form of family wooden/hybrid coaster: https://artengineering.de/en/produkte/attraktionen/achterbahnen/family-wooden-coaster/

They call it “family wooden coaster”, but state that it has steel track… I’m not sure whether I’d call it a wooden coaster or a hybrid, personally. The steel track pushes me towards hybrid, but the manufacturer calling it a wooden coaster makes it a grey area for me…

Could we see any parks snap one of these up?
