It's the actual name. It's one of those cases where something will sound much better or make much more sense in its native language than to people who speak another language trying to understand it.

The name "Fujiyama", for example, is a play on the common American mistranslation of the name of Mount Fuji. It would make much more sense for somebody who was a Japanese native as opposed to a tourist. It's not exactly the same type of situation, but it's similar.

I believe the signage would still read Medusa Steel Coaster, but according to Google Translator this would translate to simply Medusa Acero Coaster.

It's a case of Hawks vs. Blackhawks in Chicago as well. Nobody calls them by their full name.

The only thing that matters is that this ride will be a fantastic addition to the park.

Ok I mean it's not like there's a huge English-speaking population in Mexico City anyway. The name matters even less because it's a foreign language, or at least a second language, for most of the locals. It's like all those pathetically named rides all over southeast Asia - it doesn't actually matter at all.

I've been to the park, and it's surprisingly nice. I just don't see myself getting to Mexico City again anytime soon, what with being an unemployed, full-time college student for about three more years.

^I'll vouch for Chris. It's one of the nicer Six Flags parks I've been to. It sits on the top of the hill, is relatively clean, and has a nice selection of rides.

The operations are pretty good, too. No pimply-faced Mexican kids running the rides. It's almost all adult ride ops.
