Can't fault Paultons so far with this; everything looks so good and I can't wait to go there next year. The concept art looks so pretty and if the area looks even half as good as it, then the park is really onto a winner.
The colours are a bit drab but they are also pretty perfect for a dinosaur-themed ride, I'd say. Maybe green track on one of them would be good though.
For those that missed it, here's the recent blog post about the latest updates:
I had a construction tour today. Although there are no photos of me in a hard hat and a yellow jacket, there are these instead....
Flight of the T-something I can't spell! The figure of eight looks great. And the view when you enter the car park is cool - the skyline has changed forever! The first drop look great. I'm quite impressed.
Raptor is one I'm most looking forward to. Will there be a pop of airtime bang centre of the image? Maybe.
Hmm, I'm convinced that first bend and small hill there will be rather fun.
Playground stuff. The Flying Frog coaster will be renamed to "Dino Chase" and the old camp frog figurehead is being melted down and turned into a dinosaur.
RAHHH!
I have high hopes for the theming when it's done. This here is a water feature. The water will cascade down a waterfall to the left of the image, into pool, go underground and squirt out into a pond.
This will be the main entrance into Lost Kingdom. The whole area will be zoned. The bubble-wrapped dinosaur will hopefully be set free by Spring 2016.
This looks so fab, I can't wait for it to open...not just for two creds but it just looks great and it's a perfect excuse to go back to Paulton's for the first time in ages!
Also really looking to Raptor; I feel like that first turn could also give a nice bit of force for a Junior Boomerang, and a nice pop of airtime on that hill.
I've held off my first ever trip to Paulton's until next year because this addition looks so darn fab; such a fantastic-looking investment for the park already.
It's interesting to see the boomerang has been installed 180 degrees out compared to all the art work released a few months ago. That will push the station further back and allow the entrance to the que to be in a much better position. In the original plan the que entrance almost complete hidden behind the ride.
I'm quite excited about this new area and looking forward to a first visit to Paulton's next year.
I just hope that the backwards journey on the boomerang is better than on the Ben 10 at Drayton Manor. Having ridden it again last week, the forwards part is pretty good but the return journey is so slow it almost feels like the train won't make it back to the station!
