New Doomsday?

Strata Poster
Everyone knows about the past doomsdays (Y2K) and the future doomsdays (December 21st 2012) but now there is a group of ten people who now have a belief that the world's judgment day will be May 21st of this year. They believe that all those that have led good lives and those who are "saved" will ascend to heaven, while the other people who have not ascended will endure 153 days of death and horror until the 'official' end of the world- October 21st, 2011.

A good article can be found here: http://www.cnn.com/2011/LIVING/03/06/judgment.day.caravan/index.html?hpt=C2

So what do y'all think? I honestly think it's a lot of hosh posh just like Y2K and 2012. I'd love to hear others opinions.

Ugh, I hate the doomsday theorys, and this one takes the WTF cake. Religion? really? and I thought the Mayan calendar theory was dumb. Simply put this **** will NEVER happen. Buy most importantly, and just as confusing, who cares when the world will end. I just dont get the point of trying to figure out when we're all going to be killed, it's pretty glum.

Wait so this is a religious one?

Stupid ****ing ****s.

**** religion. Piece of ****. There's as much proof to god as there is to Harry Potter being a real person - FACT.

I respect other's religions. One thing what GRINDS on me though, is people trying to force their religion upon others. Like this. Believe in god, or you will die. Erm, I'll choose to die thanks..

**** you all. The world will end and I'll be ready with my COMP and a demonic army and reshape humanity.

I play megaten so I know what to do.

OMG! I better start going to church and loving Jesus now!

Oh yes, because he'd never know you were doing it just to save your skin rather than because you love him... Oh, wait... Some people may want to have a good think right now ;)

I've lived through about two dozen "doomsdays" and unless this is actually hell or purgatory, nothing has happened yet.

I can say with 100% certainty of no retribution that the world will not end. I can say this with absolute conviction because if the world does end, nobody can say "I told you so". However, I live in the luxury of being able to laugh at everyone else when it doesn't end because I was right. Win/Win!

Unless part of the torture is the smug bastards poking me in the ribs while I lie on a rack going "see, we told you, but you just wouldn't listen would you?".

I think the Y2K thing was never a real "prediction", it was just people hooking onto a date for no real reason. There was the millennium bug of course, but we fixed that so it didn't have any major affect.

It's all a load of old rubbish and I'd like to think it's hard to believe people can be so stupid as to honestly believe these things, but I'm afraid the human race never fails to prove that they are that stupid...

Haha... Brilliant words right there! Couldn't agree with you more :D

All that will happen is we'll go through that date without the world ending and they'll come up with another date and be like "This may be our 28th attempt at guessing the date, but it will definitely happen on this date now".

Then repeat that over and over until hopefully one day people will shut up about it.

Aw, I missed 'em. Woulda been a laugh.

Yeah, so, this is a bunch of crap... especially because the Bible doesn't say ANYthing about specific dates or 153 days... more like unknown days and seven years... but yeah.

Amusing article, though! :p

^ 3 Day of darkness. It's in the same book as the apocalypse and 4 horsemen. I can't remember when it happens in the sequence, at a guess its after the 4 horsemen and before the trumpeter.

I think after i get home from work I'll research all this ****
it can get quite interesting

Well, you have this:

John in Revelation said:
Rev. 6:12-13 When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale.

And then there's a lot more, like you said.

But none of it goes with what these new doomsday people are saying.

^ Thats because they are silly people and when they start to gather and think together, silly things happen.

The world will come to an end when a suicidal moon with an angry face appears in the sky and starts plummeting towards our planet, giving us a total of 3 days until impact. That could be any day! /Geeky Zelda: Majora's Mask reference.

Ugh, all these theories about the end of the world are stupid. And I'm really gonna burn in Hell just because I don't believe in some bearded man up in the clouds? Lol religion.

I thought the term was "Yiff in Hell"? (That term makes me shudder. Thanks for reminding me Kim, you idiot! >:T )

Good point though, it's not 'normal' so therefor I'll BURN FOREVER!!11!!

/antireligiouspostwithillinformedopinions

Nah, don't think so, lol. I swear I've seen about 6 doomsday dates in my lifetime.
