New attractions at Paultons Park

Moving away from the coaster speculations, what other rides could Paultons get for their 2026 vikings land? 🤔
Of course it might be a flat ride of some sort that we haven't seen in the UK as on the staff memo it mentioned another ride "UK's first".
Does anyone have any suggestions of what it could be? 🤔

From Zamperla, I could see them getting an Air Race and Magic Bikes or Windstarz. They also do an Octopus, which could be interesting (sea monster?)

From Huss, I think a Spinning Cruiser would be a UK first, or even a Breakdance 5!

I think after studying the footers, it does seem very much like Mahuka's (Intamin Hot Racer), which I think is a massively good fit for Paultons, not too thrilling, but still can satisfy us thoosies. Intamin are also quite good at tailoring train designs for parks theming choices, so obviously with the Vikings theme, it could make for a good battering ram themed attraction.

Yeah, I think so. It's the only thing that fits all the criteria:

  • Inversions
  • 1.2m height restriction (Mahuka)
  • Snaking and agile enough to go under a wild mouse

Nah magma will be leaving the park.
We'll see if you're right at the SuperFans event 🤔

Either way, it looks like it'll be very agile whether that is a single rail or not.

I'm a little bit sceptical on whether they'd go for a single rail (not for family park reasons but more capacity reasons) but I can't rule out any ride for Paultons at the moment even if I'd have done that before Tornado Springs or the event last year.

Well I think at this point, it looks pretty much that an Intamin Hot Racer will be going to Paultons Park (still speculations at the moment but I think it's pretty likely now). Looking at Mahuka's POV, I think it looks like a brilliant roller coaster and there's many good reviews on Mahuka. So I would be pretty happy if they go for this and it would be the most anticipated coaster of 2026 in the UK.

Both Big Dipper at Luna Park Sydney and Mahuka at Walibi Rhone-Alpes look incredible and it'd be fantastic to see one of those at the park.

My main concern would be capacity for what would be the park's signature coaster. Mahuka's theoretical capacity is 600pph with 2 trains of 9 riders per train which would be a very large queue for a major coaster at the park.

There is a possibility it could be more than 2 trains, a longer train or a dueling layout however I'm not sure it'd be a sensible addition at this stage. I could be wrong however.

Mandrill Mayhem at Chessington had capacity concerns and in the end, it turns out to be the ride with the more efficient operations and lower queue times compared to Vampire and Dragon's Fury so it might be fine.

It's not so much the choice in coaster that's the concern but more the fact that it could be the signature one.

I can understand where you are coming from, but Paultons Park normally has very short ques compared to the merlin parks and their operations are quite good. If the hot-racer was to be installed say for instance Legoland (wrong demographic market but the most visited theme park in the UK), it would very much have a longer que and longer three put.
As much I can understand with your concern with the capacity, and the fact you wanted them to install the Intamin Family LSM Coaster, I'm sure they'll do something about it anyway.
But I think Paultons Park knows on what they are doing so I trust them on what they do.

Digital Dan uploaded his own speculation on the vikings land at Paultons Park. He upright mentions a Mack Striker (refering to Helios the big dipper at Fantasiana in Austria). I'll let you watch the video for yourselfs.

Whats the height restriction for Helios?

Paultons Hoot will cover another update. And on the right side of the thumbnail, it looks like Footers for a potential new building. And the footers under cobra is nearly in completion. The video will be out at 7:30pm today.

I'm not a footers expert so will take people's word for it that it could be Gerstlauer.

Going back to my earlier expectations, a Gerst Eurofighter could potentially happen. Plenty of stock/off-the-shelf layouts (with potential for the park to choose one which hasn't appeared before). 1.2m height restriction. Capable of Inversions. Cost-effective. All fits together frankly.

I still simply do not see the park getting some big new custom layout extravagant coaster. It just doesn't fit.

I’m still erring on the side of it being custom to be honest. The footers sit within Cobras helix so perfectly it looks like they have been designed specifically for that space. However, it could just be perfect placement of course, and I am far from being an expert when it comes to footers etc too.

The footers do match Gerst quite well, but really hope it isn’t a Eurofighter if so. I’m personally still betting on it being Intamin, but very much enjoying seeing the updates by Paultons Hoot and speculating! While I don’t think the footers match a Mack Stryker/Big Dipper coaster at all, I can see the argument for one with Paultons obviously having a good relationship with Mack and a Stryker/Big Dipper having the capabilities to do tight manoeuvres. Also, if that concrete pad is for the station building, it’s very small.. which would match something like Helios, Lost Gravity etc. But really, it could be for anything at this stage.

Maybe I'm being obtuse, but I still can't get my head around a very bulky or major coaster going under Cobra. I just can't see something like a Stryker or Euro Fighter being able to do that easily. I still think Intamin Hot Racer is a big possibility.

However, if it's another Gerstlauer, that's thrown us a curve ball. Whilst I would love a Family Coaster like Mecalodon, that probably can't do an inversion (although it might, I suppose). How about it being one of their old-fashioned, wedge-shaped Launched Coasters like Anubis at Plopsaland? It would fit a lot of the criteria, such as the agility and being able to do inversions.

I reckon it could be an Intamin Hot Racer. A ride like Mahuka would be thrilling, but not too intense for Paultons and also not too tall, it would be something unique for the country, and I also think Paultons is small enough that the throughput wouldn’t be an issue. One would fit Paultons like a glove, in my view!

A Gerstlauer would definitely be a curveball, but I guess it isn’t out of the question.

Looking at the video im finding this all very intriguing, i feel if this is a inverting coaster then it should be a custom layout, as their possible "signature" coaster it should be unique.

Now im probably wrong but im trying to understand the supports, im thinking the ones under Cobras helix could they be for a spike?

Two ideas but it either would be a fab interaction, i know they already have Velociraptor but i think it would be fun.

Mabey it could be a turn? As some of the grass has gone but thats less fun.

Then you have the Dragon roundabout site.

Whatever they are doing looks very square, mabey for a big building? Supports are different.

Im super excited for the super fan event and how much they will say.

Also another vid from the park.

I could also see that placement being great for a spike. But not sure how that would work with the layout unless there was a switch track near the tight turn at the other end…

Alternatively, if its a hot racer could it be something like this on Mahuka.. where it goes up and over Cobra (not suggesting two tracks joint together though, just the one), although doubt the straight track would be long enough for a launch to make that work… It’s all very confusing at the moment.
