^Wow great, I was beginning to think I was the only one
It's such an amazing album, it's put together flawlessly though I do tend to find some of the instrumentals to drag but thats no major issue. It's by far the best Dream Theater album sitting on my shelf, it's become a habit of me listening to it through every once in a while, shame they're such an underground band and not really popular because their works are truly outstanding. And I know some of there songs, essentially those verging on ridicule lengths (Octavarium, Six Degrees come into mind), can be a bitch to get into, but once you get the patience you realise what you've been missing out. Both those tracks (Spirit Carries on/Finally Free) are the two of the strongest on the album, I'm a big fan of Fatal Tragedy and Through her Eyes too, not to mention some of the insane drum fills scattered throughout the album, not forgetting Petrucci solo's.
That's why I class Finally Free as a masterpiece, it genuinely fills all the gaps for a great song and more, taking the best out the album and just blowing you away with a complex and incredible finale. I don't want to sound biased but I can't stand bands like YouMeAtSix, when they become so popular for songs which I countlessly get mixed up with several other bands like All Time Low and Scouting For Girls and other pop-punk crap. It's always nice to hear something different and unique, bands like Dream Theater never fail to surprise me
