Still trying to break the back of Them Crooked Vultures. Most of Josh Homme's stuff is like that though.

The first few tracks of the album are great though (including the above), but the rest of the album is very hard work. There are some fantastic little riffs here and there and some pieces of brilliance, but the songs generally are very technical, dirgy and just tough to listen to. Most albums yo uneed three or four listens to to get into and to pick out the highlights. Them Crooked Vultures I'm on about 15 or 20 times through and I still struggle to make it much past track 8 or 9.

I just finished downloading Them Crooked Vultures about 5 minutes ago. Wonder how many listens through it'll take me?

Also grabbed the new Peter Gabriel. It's all covers, so should be interesting to hear his versions of some great tunes.

I know he's a woman beater etc. etc. and he's just a general twat, butttt:

I love Chris Brown - Girlfriend

I get to some songs and think "hang on this is Eagles of Death Metal?" or similar bands Homme is in.

I've been listening to Massive Attack's new Heligoland, which releases on February 8th & it's really growing on me. At first I thought it was good, but now I'm leaning toward great! Glad to see them pull it off, as everything was a bit of a letdown after Mezzanine.

I have to be honest, its one of them, love it or hate it songs. It's not completely official yet, hence is sounds a bit like a demo, so some parts are a tad dodgy, but overall, i find it really catchy. No suprise really from the Girl that brought Tik Tok... :)

^^No, ^no & uh... no.
To each their own, obviously...
So I've been listening to Them Crooked Vultures, Fever Ray, The XX & Massive Attack a lot lately, but everyday I'm always drawn back to Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It's Bits has been around for quite some time now & is their weakest release, but I wish another band would come around that could knock it out of the park every time like they always seem to do. The only band that comes close is Wolfmother, but it was 4

ing years between their debut & Cosmic Egg. Who knows how long we'll have to wait for their next one!
Think I'll download some Qemists & give them a try.

^ The Qemists <3 My fav band at the mo.

My song of the moment is great. If you haven't heard it, listen to it all the way through. It is very good, a reminds me of present times:

SO weird, just been through the same stage, It's Blitz! is a great album. Was listening to all those artists recently too.

Municipal Waste - Massive Aggressive. I've had this album since its release date in august and i'm still hooked on it! A must for all thrash and metal fans!

I don't think that she's very well known, but I do like many of her Songs, I remember first seeing her on GMTV doing a performance of 'Sophia' a few years ago now, and I thought it was great, so I had to look her up.

This song's been out for a long time now, and I still love it. I much prefer Live versions, especially when they're good like this :

But this is Nerina Pallot - Idaho :)

Just bought the Fearless by Taylor Swift.

Oh my, what an album <3 Not one song I hate, they're all great in their own way. She's so young and has loads of potential.

A serious must-buy for those who don't have it.

Get Yeasayer - Odd Blood NOW!
Here are a few tracks that I found on Youtube. If you like this album, get All Hour Cymbals as well. Both are great.
