^ Put that way, it sounds a little more accurate. It has the whole "Nightwish" ochestra thing going with it so yeah it is symphonic. I still think it has Black metal parts to it like the corpse paint, vocal style and pentagrams.

This first reccomendation is NOT for everyone, but if you would like to try by all means.

It's Complicated being a Wizard by Portugal. The Man

The album is diffrent and very nice. The albums is 10 songs that begins with a 23min song, the next 9 songs are the 23min song split up so in a way you hear the song twice. BUT! the style is very unique best describeable as experimental. The song/album offers more aynth, to the trditional rock stlye (even though the traditional is there)

If thats not you cup of Tea try:

Church Mouth by Portugal. The Man

This album is extrodinary, the vocal and instruments are fantastic and how it's all put together is once again out of this world! The vocalist is a mix between Jack White (The White Stripes) and Cedric Bixlar Zavala (The Mars Volta), if you dont want the whole album check out these songs

^That's quite cool and bluesy. They're no Black Keys though (until Dangermouse ruined them on their most recent album).

The Verve are back, and they've got the teletubbies on backing vocals, and it works! Good to see them back.

Uhm, maybe the most fun 53 minutes of my life are this album.

It's Feed the Animals, by Girl Talk, who is maybe the best mashup DJ ever.

I got 3 CD's yesterday in Zavi

Fall Out Boy - Infinity On High
HIM - Venus Doom

I have wanted these a while, it just took me ages to get hold of them because Hastings is terrible. If it isn't chart music it is hard to find.

I also got The '59 Sound by The Gaslight Anthem because it got rave reviews in Kerrang. I have actually fallen in love witht that album having never listened to the band before I bought it. Highly recommeded.

I meant current chart music Trav? I am well aware of how mainstream and pop FOB are but they are undeniably catchy.

Oh yeah and Lain, If that Priest album is as awesome as the title track then I will have to get. I heard it on a Metal Hammer CD a couple of months back.

Yea, it's pretty good. I don't think Nostradamus is the best track on the album - check out Prophecy and Visions. They're awesome.

Best thing you've ever said.

The Gaslight Anthem are a very cool band actually, and the only punk rock band that have actually captured my attention in years. Everything else in that genre is becoming so samey, but them, they're just different, there's more depth to the sound, there's variation. They could yet prove me wrong, but after a quick listen to the album, i'm pretty impressed, it sounds good.

Biffy Clyro have a new song out, and if you've not heard it, then you haven't got ears. Or a radio. One or the other.

Its awesome though, albeit not quite as good as some of the stuff that came off their last album. Its still epic, and i'm sure it'll sound about 133,000 times better live, as with anything Biffy ever do. Just the new album to look forward to now!

Slipknot - All hope is gone. I really love this album and judging by the fact that it is already #02 in the UK music charts after just one week, so does everyone else.

All the songs rule, dead memories is a bit crap but other than that 10/10 for the Knot. Sulfur is wicked song all the way through. Excellent guitar riff intensified by Joey Jordisons impecable drumming and chorus to kill.

Even if you aren't a Slipknot or metal fan I recommend snuff. It is an accoustic song and really nice.

Every now and then, there's a hip-hop track that catches my attention. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes it does. Today was one of those days, when I heard a trailer for Flobots - No Handlebars. Later, I heard the full song and loved it. Sometimes, something different comes out of the hip-hop scene and really grabs my attention, and this just has that unique edge that makes it stand out. Pretty soon, I can imagine it being everywhere, and being derided for being just a catchy gimmick, but for now, i'm going to enjoy it for what it is, something fresh, new and interesting.
