Jaws at Universal Studios to close

At least Tokyo's still has theirs for now.

Osaka.

I've only ridden the Japanese version (the Florida one was down when I was there), but I'm pretty sure they're identical? Anyway, I really liked it; it's just a really fun, family ride. It does take up a **** load of space though, and it's one of the oldest things there now, so it makes sense to move with the times.

My first thoughts were that it would be to make room for something from the Singapore park, but with that amount of space they could really do pretty much anything.

It has run its course, but it was a good ride and I'll miss it. But I am super excited to see what Universal has in store, because that is a large area to work with. Hopefully it's a cred ;D

THEMEPARKFAIL.

I have a home movie of me riding this when I'm like, four, being all small and cockney and scared <3

I read somewhere (can't remember) that the main rumour is that it will be Potter stuff, with the Hogwarts Express connecting the two lands. Which I think DOES sound kind of cool, but then I don't like the idea of Potter dominating the whole damn resort.

Also, if Transformers comes anywhere near this park I will.........send a strongly worded letter. Yeah.

The London end of the Hogwarts Express?

They REALLY want to theme it to King's Cross? There's just two McDonalds, a Tesco and the burnt-out shell of an old KFC there, is there not a nicer part of London to focus on ;)

But, yeah, I'M SO FREAKING UP FOR IT BEING THEMED TO LONDON. Diagon Alley, that pub, other stuff <3 And I really like the idea of a way to get between the parks that's not immersion breaking.

King's Cross <3

I wonder how many Americans will try and run at the 9 3/4 wall and just bounce off. Or given their weight, go through it..

So will this be included as one park ticket or 2 ie have a ticket machine at in both stations. If they do that is wrong and it's forcing people into the 2 park ticket.

Its been confirmed as a Harry Potter Expansion, Diagon Alley & Hogwarts Express an' all.
Source? (that link is just someone in another forum)

Don't think anything is actually confirmed yet for Orlando (beyond expansion), just speculation....

Heres the press release for USH ; http://media.universalorlando.com/Press ... px?id=1070

and all that says re Orlando is;

The two companies also announced their plans to significantly expand The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort.
doesn't mean that it isn't gonna happen though. :-(

^and it also doesn't mean that it will happen on the Jaws site either.

Originally people said it would be the land before Harry World then they said behind the castle.

Idk where they think they're going to fit anything in this Wizarding World. The Jaws lot would easily fit anything they'd want to do, but the train would have to weave through so many back streets it would be difficult to get this work.

I think the Jaws replacement may be something completely different.

EDIT: Do you think its possible that they remove the Lost Continent land all together to expand on the Harry Potter one? I mean it's not like it has lots of attractions in it. Just a show and that strange Poseidon show/ride thingy.

It can't be behind the castle it backs right onto a road

The train thing would be fab if there was some sort of scenery or foliage between the two, but going past a load of warehouses? No thanks.

It WOULD be fab if they made a tunnel, adding effects and stuff, although yeah, not going to happen.

Jake 100% agree with you there.

And yes I know there is no room behind the castle which is why I found it strange people were saying that.

This train idea just sounds like they are linking the parks so people don't have to walk if they are park hoping.

This.

I think it's an excellent idea, especially if they manage to theme the train ride the whole way. A brilliant way to make the two areas connected, yet still apart which I think will help simulate the distance and differences between London and Hogwarts/Hogsmeade.

Plus, from a business standpoint, I can see it resulting in tons more 2 park passes being sold, which is obviously a great boost and such. And if anyone wants to complain about having to buy a 2 park pass, the one in IoA is amazing enough by itself, so I don't see it as a rip off or anything.
