How would YOU like the Coaster Games section to be

This'll probably be a crap explanation but here I go.

You know on The Atari RCT3 forums and for every topic they have a Star rating below the title?

Is it possible to do this on here?

Funny how all the people who actually USE the game are on one side...

IMO, the forum is already looking cluttered and messy.

I hate it.

And funny how the people who actually have to try and read through a several hundred page, unwelcoming, arsehole of a topic to try and maintain some kind of order are on the other side :p

I've never been interested in the NoLimits section before because the UC topic is hundreds of pages, of which every three pages there's a new project - the rest is bickering with Xpress. At least now I get to see projects and I'm taking a much more active interest in them... Well, not at the moment because I'm snowed under, but generally

I like it the way it is now. Before as soon as you posted an image of a project it was weighed down with people arguing and bitching.
At least now it will encourage people to finish projects, and they can make more suggestive comments.

Keep it how it is now without the UC topic please. :D

Quick question again

Would it be possible to merge the RCT 3 forum with the RCT 1,2 one?

It would, but one day we may see an influx of new RCT3 players... You never know, maybe when Brian and Taylor get around to seeing sense! ;)

Seriously, you never know, maybe one day (I say this each winter), I may get back to working on mine and inspire everyone to get back on with it!

What's this sudden No Limits snobbishness anyway? I've noticed that people start with maybe RCT2 or 3, are very active, then suddenly move to No Limits and everything else is dog turd on the face of coaster gaming.

They're not second class games... They're first class games, No Limits just isn't a game, it's a design tool - different things :D

Yes. But when you play NL you go back and see how

an jerky the coasters were on RCT3. :p
I still love playing it but It doesn't play on my PC and I have to ask my mums partner to go on it on his.
It also takes aaagggesss to build things on RCT3 (but it is worth it when It's done like me. ;) )

Who really cares if the tracks are jerky on RCT3?

It takes longer to do less on NL. The only time it takes ages to do anything on rct3 is when you have extremly low frame rates.

As in below 3 frames per second

^Agreed

RCT3 on my current machine works a charm, and that's with good settings..

Tbh RCT3 is so dependant on your machine it's no wonder a lot of people don't like it a lot, RCT2 is a lot easier for everyone as the frame-rate doesn't really go down much if at all...

Now it's time to bring this topic back I think, since we now have the possibility to have sub forums...

My idea on how to make the whole game section work would be:
In the main forum only have one called "Coaster Games".
In this section all the random discussions, news, requests, questions, etc. for all games could be posted. You could have one sticky help thread for each game.
There should also be one sticky "announcement" thread where any user (all games) could announce/advertise that they have completed milestones (RCT only, when they have completed a section of the park) & finished projects (all games), this would make people notice the other games a lot more.
Then there should be 3 (or more depending on number of games) project sub forums where all projects are discussed released etc.

I knew you'd bring this back

Yes, I agree 100% Hixee may like to make it a pet project of his now he can re-arrange the forums and the like.

Otherwise, it is on my list of things to do :)

He he, it just went through my mind after the switch :)

As it is now, the "coaster games" bit feels a bit redundant since all the discussions is done in the projects forums (since there are no other "games" to talk about)...

And as I said in the "Welcome to the new.." topic then it would be great if you could add quick-links to sub-forums on the main page since it makes browsing a lot quicker, or is that already on the massive list of yours??

Yes, I like this idea too. I've got no idea about how to actually set up the sub-forums, but hey, if furie can do, how hard can it be? :p In all seriousness though, I'll figure it out and get onto it. I think the idea of having all the coaster games pooled together is nice.

This set-up already exists (I think), but isn't actually in use on the Team Talk thing on the main page. I don't know how it works for mulitple sub-forums, but that can be something for me to look at too.

I've got exams and stuff in the next six weeks, but after that I'll just be loafing around at home (mostly), so I should have the time to make sure I don't

the whole thing up! :p

Well if there is a general consensus of missing.. we COULD bring it back.. maybe. Why did we get rid of it again? Clutter?

Clutter and I think there was too much arguing and bitching. I don't remember exactly.

I used to go in there once every two days to delete four pages of arguing. It was completely unpleasant to moderate, and incredibly unfriendly to anyone who wanted to get into No Limits on here.

It's all in different topics now though, so it's slightly diluted ;)
