Has A Ride Ever Got To You?

Nope. I'm really daring when it comes to rides and am willing to give anything a go. It's usually flats that spin super fast and have long cycles that put me off. :p

I don't mind admitting,that I'll absolutely refuse to ride shot/drop towers.

I just hate the feeling of "vertical".

Also Oblivion got me into quite a state,I can remember half way up the lift hill, wanting to stop and get off.

I thought going back on it this year, would be easier. But we got front row,and I think that made it worse.

Oblivion and Pepsi Max

Used to be really scared of heights and these two I did the queues but always backed out at the last moment.
Gradually built up to until Stealth all other coasters were fine as the weren't that tall but Stealth was a coaster I was not going to back down on even though I felt sick with fear the first time I did it. Once I found out that was a pussy cat, now ridden over 300 times since it was opened, Oblivion and Pepsi Max were a piece of cake.
The fact my hubby said he wouldn't pay for my ticket to the US until I had done them all was a big help.

Now been there done that and done the big ones at Cedar Point to the fact I just can't wait to go higher and bigger now.

Height thing 90% gone still a bit fearfull of heights like looking over the cliffs at Beachy Head and such but Rollercosters no problemo!

Not since Colossus. I wasn't scared on it but for years before I rode it I was petrified of it.

I was crapping myself before Rush at GF last year 2 but loved it the second it started.

Rita: Queen OF Speed because I was scared that I would hurt my back and teeth again like i had on stealth. I didn't find oblivion much to be scared of, i just looked over the edge and started laughing. I won't go on drop towers though, not sure why.

Hurakan condor, was really un-nerving on the first time I rode it, I was really shocked at just how quick and such it was, But yeah any drop tower gets me really!

I also usualy get caught by launch coasters too, not that they scare me, just that the waiting for the launch is aweful!

Oh yeah, I used to be ****ing terrified of Rollercoasters and thrill rides.

I think I was 13 when I chickened out of Corkscrew :p But then I went back to Alton the next year and bigged up that I was gonna go on anything to all my mates, meaning I knew I couldn't back down for fear of ridicule :p So my first ever proper rollercoaster was Oblivion. Scared the **** out of me.

Dragon Khan, I thought would get to me, but it was just pure excitement at being there.

PMBO was scary, due to the pure height of it and the angle of the drop. I wasn't scared of the ride, just the height.

Oh, and drop towers?! No ****ing way. Apocolypse scares the **** out of me, and Condor!? Fat chance :p I almost got on it at night though, but the queue was shut, so I'll never know if I would have gone through with it or not. My first (and probably last) tower ride was Cliffhanger at Flamingo Land. I hated the shot. And I hated the drop. Horrible.

Oblivion still scares me to this day. I still chicken out of it now and again depending on what mood I'm in.

Its funny how almost everyone has mentioned Oblivion or some shot/drop tower ride of some sort. It stands to an open debate- which one is scarier? Oblivion or Apocalypse? Both are quite tall, both are over in a minisular second, both are immensely intimidating. In fact the only real diffrence is that Oblivion pits riders face forwards and (judging by the standup floorless side) Apocalypse catapults riders feet first at an angle.

I myself find Oblivion to be the scarier of to 2. It has this edge that can't quite be explained and its just so re-ridable. I think its because of the tension and the atmosphere built up throughout the ride. The whole near-vertical lift hill, the slow turnaround, the holding break and then the sudden rush as you plummet into the mist filled hole. You really can't beat it. Its not really fair to compare the 2 seeing as though Apocalypse is a drop tower and Oblivion is a vertical drop coaster

I bottled it on Oblivion when i was 13. Bout it. After that I lost all fear of roller coasters.

Nautic Jets ****ted me up after the first ride.

Oblivion and Stealth both made me cry the first time I went on them. I love Stealth now, still HATE Oblivion but I will go on it if I have to haha!

Couple of more that I was painfully reminded of.

The rides on the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas scared the crap out of me. The X-scream ride scared the crap ou tof me because I was the only one riddind and the ride op said I had to go in the front. The car had holes in the sides so that you can see the groud that is over 866 ft below you. The Insanity-The Ride was on of the worst rides that I have had because the ride broke down will in full swing and the ride shuddered like it was goin gto fall. The Big Shot was great, that may be becasue the tower is below you, not the air. :--D

I'm shocked at the number of people scared (mildly mainly) of heights. Plus the numbers scared of drop towers  I suppose it did help that my first proper tower was Detonator back in 2001 when I was 8, so I was young.

You should've gone on Hurakan, I thought it looked smaller than I expected to be honest, and when you're up there you should just admire the view and then drop :) Next time you find a tower though I advise to "Just do it".

I'm not a fan of heights, but I'm OK on coasters and rides where I feel like I'm securely fastened in. I'm normally fine with things like cable cars, but get me on a narrow cliff path, and I'll be bricking it.

I'm still nervous of screaming swings. There's just something about looking straight down as you're floating up out of your seat with nothing to restrain your upper body.

Maybe I'm the only one who gets this, but when you get scared, do you want to do the ride more?

Like on the really tall drop towers and things, I'm not exactly afraid of heights, but they still get to me. But that just makes me want to do it more, cos it just makes me more excited.

I'm not sure how to explain it. :/
