Dive machines, old or new?

Which type of dive machine do you prefer?

Just wondering whether people prefer the old dive machines with around a 180ft drop into a pitch black tunnel like Oblivion or G5, or the newer ones with immelman's, water splashes and a longer layout like Griffon, Sheikra and Diving Coaster. As I haven't rode any of the newer ones with the floorless trains yet, I can't decide. So please vote and comment with your views. :)
 
Well, since you are asking on a British site, you'll get more 'old' votes.

But, I do prefer the longer layout. I'm not a big fan of just dropping into a hole.
 
I haven't been on any new ones. But I'm not sure how the old ones can be better to be honest.

Yeah, they're more focused around the drop, but that doesn't really affect the actual ride experience. It affects your nerves, but yeah, I still think the ride experience would be better on a new one.
 
I don't really think I can make a decision.

I love the longer layouts that ShieKra, Griffon and Diving Coaster offer. They really add something to the ride and make it more than just a drop.

However, Oblivion is brilliant. I think G5 looks a bit poo, but the theme around Oblivion makes it so unbelievably awesome.

Until they bring out a combination I'm going to have to say the rides with the longer layouts, however I really do like both "types".

New it is.

Well until I've rode Griffon or Sheikra then I might change my opinion but for now I'm saying Oblivion because I thought it was very thrilling even if it is just a drop.
 
I haven't ridden the any of new ones, but in my eyes its not even a competition!

New all the way...
 
New: You get the drop, another drop, and then all the other elements.

Old: You get the drop.

Yeah, new it is.
 
New. Even though i haven't been on sheikra etc... i always find oblivion a bit too short. The newer ones just look generaly better.
