Jimmy Boyd, the child singer and actor best known for the original rendition of the Christmas novelty hit "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" in 1952, has died of cancer. He was 70. "I Saw Mommy" has since been interpreted by such artists as the Jackson 5, John Mellencamp and Amy Winehouse. (I only mention this because I listed this as one of my favorite Christmas songs in the topic that was created during the X-mas holidays & I don't expect to be awarded a point for this post Ian.)
