Watched the vids this morning, and aside from the shoddy camerawork, I'd say that they look pretty good.
The whole point of the ride is to simulate a dogfight between Cylon and Human spaceships. The near-collision aspect should be less pronounced than in DD, these are ships that would shoot lasers at each other, not breathe fire / use claws.
Yeah, maybe I'm looking too deep into it, but until we get some POV or actually ride the damn things, our opinions are pretty much worthless.
Can I just say I was joking about the roughness when I made my comment. I really do hope that with the new trains that they have sorted that problem out.
For me so far both sides look quite smooth, but runnng these things 365 days a year I do hope they stand the test of time. DD is not exaclty smooth anymore.
I don't like the look of this, the whole thing feels a bit.....wrong. Like a cheap imitation or something. It will probably be good I suppose but I don't know, Vekoma do not want.
I was just wondering something: Is this based on the 'new' Battlestar Galactica? I've never seen it, only the old series, but I do NOT think of blue and red when I think of the show...
Cylon Raiders / Centurions = grey and black / Silver and black
Human Vipers / Warriors = White and red / Brown and tan
Yeah I have to agree that the Zero-G does seem to be taken a bit slow. Interesting layouts though, its nice to see difference layouts from the usual loop, cobra, zero-g etc.
That drop into the tunnel under the station (before the loop) should be awsome though.
It almost looks like it's faster now, maybe the extra weight of the train due to the themeing have increased it somewhat, or it may also be that it have been running for a while and is getting broken in properly.
Can't wait until they release another couple of videos of the Cylon side and even better would be some more of the trains duelling...
It looks very dull in my opinion, if the lift hill constantly went the speed it trvels in the middle, the ride would possibly look fun, but like marc said, it looks like it's going to stall some places!
