This is just speculation, but over the past few days I’ve been thinking about what Merlin’s plan could be for Oblivion in the coming years. With Nemesis getting a retrack 30 years after its initial opening (1994), and 20 years being a common design life for steel coasters, surely Oblivion (1998)...
I have received some info from a reliable source that the new Bibi & Tina World in Elstal will have at least 4 coasters, including a family dueling model and a launched family/thrill coaster. Currently the project is still on schedule with final permit planning ready by the end of this year, I...
Gerstlauer yet again showing how weird their footer connections are 😅 having to adjust the supports with those wooden wedges before removing them to to cast the concrete just doesn't make sense
Not a coaster, but I had a zen-ride on Highlander at Hansa Park during a hailstorm, sat alone quietly at 103m whilst being pelted with ice was quite an experience
I’ll start off by saying my CC is only 88 and planning some trips to the best parks in Europe this year so this list definitely going to be hugely different in 12 months.
I have a massive bias for the engineering story behind a coaster, as a practising Civil Engineer I geek out on the...
Good to hear, I also found K2 very underated, the 3rd airtime pop into the corner had me out of my seat 😆 I know that the Bibi & Tina park will definitely have a hotel, not sure about the others.
I have no idea about how strong the IP is to be honest, I'm not German, only been here a few years...
German strawberry farming company ‘Karls‘ have stated that by 2035 they plan to build 12 more ‘Erlebnis-Dörfer’ (Adventure Villages), with the CEO Robert Dahl explaining that “the long-term plan is for every child in Germany to be able to reach a colourful Karls family park within an hour and a...
I imagine that'll be it until the spring, only setting out and initial excavation. Too cold to be casting any foundations right now. Thanks for the pics!
Yeah all standard stuff, most of this will simply be outsourced to 3rd party consultants who deal with such projects daily and like you say, I imagine they predicted the majority and already have most of it on stand-by. No major barriers.
Excited to finally have a large coaster come to the UK...
very surprised at how high you rank Heide Park. I went recently and felt something was missing from every ride, watered down, out of date etc...
Very nice trip report all in all, I'm planning to do the main Swedish parks in 2023 so it's good to hear your experience, thanks!
Hope this allowed... was wondering if anyone knows of any articles which explain the process of exporting a 3D CAD model into a CAE model for steel tube fabrication? Or how steel fabricators can turn a design into plans for fabrication
I am interested in this construction technique of temporarily anchoring the supports with those lines. Does anyone know the reason for this? I would assume the supports should be able to stand up themselves without the tethers, purely from through anchor bolts,
Regardless, that element looks nice!
