Six Flags Great Adventure | Flash: Vertical Velocity | Vekoma Super Boomerang | 2024

Decided to turn this topic into once specifically for the Super Boomerang. Let's face it, this is probably the most noteworthy thing going on here. Happy for the rest to continue to be discussed in this thread also, of course.

Drayton Manor | Gold Rush | Intamin Family Coaster | 2024

I agree. It seems like you could just make a longer/better coaster for all the money all these fancy mechanisms cost.

Well if their progress in the outdoor park is anything to go by... ;)

Genting SkyWorlds | Malaysia | Theme Park

I was actually at Genting Highlands today and the SFX coaster looks in pretty bad shape. Track is filthy, whole area it's in looks run-down and it's a huge eyesore to the park IMO. I think the same is probably true of Mad Ramp Peak, but as the area is already themed to be a bit more worn out it...

Le Pal | Fjord Explorer | Mack Water Coaster | 2024

It'll be good as long as they've improved their track shaping and train dynamics. Poseidon is ghastly, and the one in Denmark ain't much better. Not tried the new one at Nigloland to know if they've cracked it yet, mind.

Fire at Liseberg's Oceana water park

I think back propping is probably the most likely answer, or a methodical and careful deconstruction. @Lord-Summerisle's suggestions of drones or robots is also possible, but I don't really have much experience in this area, I have to admit. From the building services perspective, most of it...

Fire at Liseberg's Oceana water park

This is ace. I cant say I've come across the latter in my career so far, but can well imagine how that could work. Thanks for the elaboration.

Bit in bold I wouldn't say is necessarily true as a result of the finances/legalities. There are ways that you could divorce the two from a legal process/payment perspective. The most immediate thing that is going to slow this down will be the investigation by the authorities (especially if...

Fire at Liseberg's Oceana water park

When you're in the realm of multi-million projects, it's not practical from a financial risk perspective (to any parties involved) to deal in lump sum payments. It's a long process, and there are a million-and-one variations to this on a project specific basis, but usually it falls into this...

    League of Goons 2024: Q&A

You would not. Any visits to parks or rides ridden as part of your working hours at said park, do not count. If you clock off work and have a quick ride while not 'on the clock' before going home, I would probably allow that. On a trust basis. :)

Sort of, but on the commercial systems the refrigerants are required to be drained down and taken for reprocessing. It's fairly typical, but not really a stretch target, for 5% losses over the lifetime of the unit (15yrs is a safe starting bet), with the rest being retained and recycled. These...

Fire at Liseberg's Oceana water park

Nah, the bigger commercial/industrial chillers can have tens of kilograms of stuff in them. Dunno anything about the gear in this specific instance, but kit in a place like this (larger hotels, shopping centres, offices, etc) will often me measured in MW of cooling output - not a few tens of kW...
