WuTang2k2, you'll love Muse :D

Nice autograph Kaz, no idea what that word is though!

Not impressed with the crowd control though, sounds awful, there have been enough deaths at gigs to make promoters aware of the risks of overcrowding. I've been knocked over at gigs, it's not funny. Send them a nasty letter, cc-ing Health & Safety ;)

Glad MCR was good, apparently they've got BIG plans for the show next year....

Next up for me is Lostprophets next week in a tiny venue up the road :D

They better have... though have to say, less sulkish about missing them here on Friday if it was as death as it was in Liverpool. Then again, Liverpool is pretty much death anyway :?

[Oi! - Rob]

Still Bullet for my valentine a week on tuesday :D assuming my tickets materialise. ticketmaster loathes.

Oh God, don't by anything from ****-master, from past experience they rip you off with the ?7.50 'printing and handling fee' (yeah, like it costs ?7.50 to print a bit of paper and stick it in the envelope), then they send it out to you too late, often after you have left to go to the concert already, ala Download 2005, but if they do get it to you in time, it is often the wrong ticket ala Download 2004, and by that time (the night before), it's too bloody late to change it and you are stuffed. Although they got a lot of stick from me and my brother when that happened and managed to get the tickets while up there. The little ****s

My best mate at school went to see Muse on tuesday at the NEC, he is like the biggest fan. I personally don't like them at all, but at the same time I respect them cause they are very talented and I hold nothing against them. Same for Foo Fighters.

Two days ago I saw my best gig so far, Iron Maiden at Hartwall Arena incl. an audience of over 13'000. The gig was really great, great effects, the lighting was awesomely varied and done and the atmosphere was good.
Bruce Dickinson and the rest of the band performed really well and the sounds were just perfect. :)
One downer is that they played the whole new album (A matter of life and death) and only 6-7 'classic's' in about 1hr 50mins.

The warmup band was Trivium, who I don't really like, but well atleast they played alright.

My worst concert was also this year when I went to see Gary Moore (and George Thorogood). I went to the concert mainly and actually only because of Gary Moore, for his songs like: Over the hills and far away, after the war, wild frontier etc.
And of course he didn't play ANY of the songs I really like, only his calmer, softer love, 'blues songs' :( *deep sigh*

George Thorogood though, was good as I hadn't heard of him/them before, but I had heard Bad to the Bone and Get a haircut and get a new job, those are good songs and they were nice to hear live.

This year I also had tickets to see Metallica (warm up BFMV) with 70'000 other peeps in Estonia, unfortunately couldn't go because of my parents bad holiday arrangements :( . I also missed Whitesnake and W.A.S.P during the year.

Also as my music taste is quite varied:
I had a ticket for Underworld who should've played in Helsinki Ice hall (smaller than Hartwall Arena) 21.10 this year, without any age-limit, but they changed venue, because of "technical difficulties"(they had only sold 700 tickets) to a club, one of the finest in town for the matter of fact, and along came the 18 year limit, but then I just didn't bother going, luckily I got a refund though.

Also in a week and two days Ti?sto is coming to town, he only does so around every three years, needless to say it's a bit annoying when you're almost 18 less than 2 months away (well, of course he could play in a 20, 24 club ).

Seats or standing?

I'm doing standing :p Starting to think it's a bad idea going on a school night but whatever.

Where about are you sitting/standing for that? We got seats right at the back on ground level because we got tickets really late, but should be a good night. I'll probably see you there, even though I don't know what the hell you look like.

I went to see a Genesis tribute band last night at the Gloucester Guild Hall, and they were pretty damn good. I havn't heard much of their music but I went along with my dad and brother and ended up enjoying it a lot. They were one of the best tribute bands I have seen too.

Just did Taste of Chaos last night at Brixton.

It was a pretty **** event, too many people moving around at the same time, everyone trying to see different bands in what is not the greatest laid-out of venues.

I saw Alexisonfire, which was - as always - awesome. Although the half hour set left alot to be desired.

Other than that, cloak rooms sucked, run out of space for bags, meaning I had to go through the whole gig wearing a bag - which sucked. The sound quality especially sucked on this particular night, too, rubbish acoustics, all you can hear is vocals, bass, and drums. The lead guitar especially on Alexis was completely non existant. Just to also add that the volume this year is clearly not loud enough.

Bar staff sucked and the prices were as suspected completely attrocious. E.G. Asked for a Strongbow and, for the first time in about 2 years got asked for I.D., the barperson obviously had absolutely no perception of age since the rule is only to ask for ID if you look under 21. But its fine, no problem. Although imagine my dissapointment when I had to rummage around in my bag for my I.D. only to find on presentation they infact didnt even have any strongbow left at that particular bar. Thanks for completely wasting my time then, chummy.

Other bands werent particularly interesting, Underoath were relatively exciting, Anti-Flag were political cheese at its finest - listen to SOAD instead. And Taking Back Sunday were alot of fuss about nothing.

Overall a pretty average night, thanks to the venue for providing an overall crap experience, crap cloakrooms, crap bars, and crap sound.

The only saving grace is that Alexisonfire are doing another London date - this time headlining, at the far superior Astoria on March 3rd 07. If your interested get tickets now before they run out!

Saw Enter Shikari a few weeks ago, my how they've grown lol. Their set was amazing, there aren't a lot of rock type bands that can get away with electronic sounding stuff in their music!

Sorry for the double, I just need to bump this...

We got to the show around 6:30 and got in by 6:45 and the show started around 7. The first band was 'I Killed the Prom Queen' from Australia. They were a strict metal band and they had a very clear, clean cut sound. I thought they were great.

After IKTPQ it was 'He Is Legend'. What a ****ing weird band! Lets just say, I'm not gonna rush to these guys again...

After HIL was 'It Dies Today'. These guys are fantastic. The stage presence, the vocals, the rifts, all were great. And at the end of the set I caught a pick from them!

Then came Aiden. I seen them once before so I knew what was expected. They played 2 new songs 'The Suffering' and 'We Sleep Forever' and 4 or 5 middle stuff and then 2 old songs. They were super intense and fantastic like always. They even did the wall of death again. I got punched in the face in that one...

After came the Headliners, Silverstein. Shane's vocals have matured beyond their years and now this band is complete. He's a long way away from 'When Broken is Easily Fixed' and now his voice suits the music much better. They played an hour set that was amazing as always, can't wait to see them again...

^No I think he's pretty much right there.

+1.

Have only heard a few songs, but it sounded like a dead cat being thrown at a wall. Ok, a bit over the top there, but it was still pretty bad.
